The fitness of players has improved so much under HC.

Improvement in players. Backing out of form Soumya etc

Sticking to what he feels is best for the team - great decision, paid off..

He's good, let's not get carried away, we have a solid team compared to before, and great fitness coach who also knows a thing or two about fast bowling

Dropping mahmadullah has opened the floodgates for young talent to come through

"The game changed through Mustafizur's spell after lunch on the fourth day. Nothing was happening, [and it was] very hot for the fast bowlers. He came and bowled a magnificent seven-over spell to take three wickets," Hathurusingha said. "It was a crucial time of the game for me.

"I had seen [Shakib] bowling against South Africa in 2010 or 2011. He was a different bowler here, and he showed it to me. We had a very good discussion on what he is not doing now. We discussed after seeing video footage. He bowled very well in this game. When Fizz [Mustafizur] was bowling from one end, [Shakib] checked the runs from the far end."

Signed. I think we are an emotional bunch (fans). People on social media was calling for his head after dropping Mahmudullah. We need to be patient and trust the coach.

Thank you coach for being yourself. I hope you continue to bring success for our team.

I still can't get over how BCB fired Gordon. They were unprofessional and very little has changed in that respect.

I still think the New Zealand coach is the best in the world. Bangladesh have improved a lot under him, but we are not a world class team by any means – not even close. We have come far in the main forms, but still struggle really badly in T20 despite having BPL. If he is the greatest then Bangladesh should win the Champions Trophy – period.

Dav Whatmore, pre-crook Ashraful, Aus win (?), Bangladesher abirbhab at World Cup...you can't beat those. He was the first one who made us believe.

He's definitely the best coach we ve had in my opinion. And he has a terrific support team.

I am not sure the selector move has worked out 100%. But as far as improving performance-on individual/team basis, winning mentality goes, he's done an excellent job.

Pretty sure though he wont stay beyond 2019. But i am pretty confident he ll leave with Bangladesh in a much much better position.

Best man to have coached us till date.

BCB should try and extend his contract further and put on the table a price he cant refuse. He prefers the Sri Lanka job but don't think they can compete with BCB's financial strength.

Its important we do this because good coaches are incredibly hard to come by and even if they do, they prefer shorts stints at circus leagues like the IPL.

Gutsy players like soumya, shabbir, mosaddek, miraz have already shown lot of promises. They have good understanding of the game too. Is it because of Richard Mcinnes hard work?

Over the 100 Test that Bangladesh played, we have passed several level of maturity. And to pass different level, we needed different type of coach for the team. We had several great coaches who helped us cross those hurdle and the challenges (for the coaches) were different. So it's hard to compare these coaches as several of them had great contribution but they provided different level of coaching as was needed at that point.

However if I have to choose a coach for the current team, I would again choose Haturu daa. With due respect to the past coaches, I think Haturu daa is the best for the current team i.e. based on the maturity level we are currently in. Few things I really like about him:
- his emphasis on discipline even if that means dropping a quality player to make a case.
- not only he knows how to praise, but also criticize players when needed, specially senior players.
- expecting more from the senior players
- always looks for new talent to make the team even better.
- great at identifying young talent and brave enough to give them chance.

So I hope Hatutu daa stays at-least 5 more years.

All your points are on the dot Fazal Bhai. But we might have a tough time convincing him to stay on. After a while, a coach may want a change, saw that with Whatmore too. Even if SL dont offer him, he ll probably head back to Aussie to be with family, coach a team in Big Bash. I think he gave that indication in a recent interview with a Lankan newspaper.

I just hope he keeps improving the team till his contract expires, and there is proper succession planning. We did an awful job post Siddons, Law left, Pybus left, we kept Jurgensen just because we had no other option. Eventually a very costly error.

Best coach we ever had, probably by far. A very intelligent guy with great leadership qualities, and that was obvious soon after he took charge. Also, the best selector and talent spotter we've ever had. Furthermore, he made good, positive changes not just within the NT but also in our entire cricketing structure and domestic system that we'll continue to benefit from in the future.

Jurgensen and Siddons were just horrible in comparison.
