Default Departure of a True Great: VVS Laxman Walks Off...

Hats off to this warrior in whites. I've considered him India's clear MVP for a while now, at least as great as Dravid and Tendy, and most likely even better. People talk about his grace, and his wristiness, but to me it was the clutch performances he put in, time and time again that make him a Legend. Numbers don't do his status justice, though the numbers are still dream-like. He was CLUTCH...he scored when India's a$$ was on the line when Dravid was busy drawing matches with his slow SR and Tendy was busy choking in crucial innings.

Farewell, Sir. May peace and prosperity follow the rest of your life!

What a player!! Just did his own thing in the background behind all the other Indian legen, and most impprtantly stepped up when it mattered the most. India will miss him big time in test cricket. Without any doubt one of the best Indian middle order batsman to have played the game.

Now I wonder, who is going to save the Indians from the Aussies.

a very solid and dependable batsman for india for a lot of years, played some heroic knocks against the aussies, which as an aussie i have the utmost respect for but my word was he a thorn in our side at times. but he is thinking of the team when he does this, he could have played on a couple more years if he chose to but he gave up his spot to blood a youngster.

Another one of the all time greats. His 281 in Kolkata is a testament to his talent. His was not one of brute force - his was one of wrist poetry. Salut and may you enjoy your well deserved rest.

Watching VVS face down Australian bowlers in all conditions has been one of the best things about watching test cricket for me personally. He will be sorely missed whenever India plays Australia, especially in Down Under. Maybe Kohli will pick up the mantle.
