ঘরের মাঠে টি-টোয়েন্টি বিশ্বকাপে ছেলেরা বলার মতো সাফল্য না পেলেও মেয়েরা এ ক্ষেত্রে বেশ এগিয়ে। শ্রীলঙ্কা ও আয়ারল্যান্ডের বিপক্ষে ম্যাচ জয়ের সাফল্য তো ছিলই; এ তালিকায় নতুন যোগ হলো বাংলাদেশ নারী ক্রিকেট দলের অধিনায়ক সালমা খাতুনের সাফল্য। আইসিসির সর্বশেষ র‌্যাঙ্কিং অনুযায়ী মেয়েদের টি-টোয়েন্টি বোলারদের মধ্যে এক নম্বরে উঠে এসেছেন সালমা।

সালমার মোট পয়েন্ট ৬৫০। দ্বিতীয় অবস্থানে থাকা শ্রীলঙ্কার প্রাবোধানির পয়েন্ট ৬৪৯। তিন নম্বরে রয়েছেন নিউজিল্যান্ডের মোরনা নিলসেন, তাঁর পয়েন্ট ৬৪৫। এ ছাড়া মেয়েদের টি-টোয়েন্টিতে অলরাউন্ডারের র্যাঙ্কিংয়ে সালমার অবস্থান তিনে।

গত শনিবার সকালে জুরি বোর্ডের সভায় সেরা খেলোয়াড় ছাড়াও এই টুর্নামেন্টে পারফরম্যান্সের ভিত্তিতে বিভিন্ন দল থেকে খেলোয়াড় বেছে নিয়ে পুরুষ ও মহিলা বিভাগের সেরা দল নির্বাচন করা হয়েছে। ওই দল দুটি ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে আজ। পুরুষ বিভাগে বাংলাদেশের কোনো খেলোয়াড় ঠাঁই না পেলেও মহিলা বিভাগের সেরা দলে ঠাঁই পেয়েছেন সালমা।
