Ashraful's celebration in 2011 wc still fresh on my mind
...
He did that after getting a wicket...
I like ash the bowler more than ash the batsman.

In terms of elegance, I think Soumya is the only one of our batsmen who sent esteemed cricket writers into raptures with just one shot. To give Ashraful and Aftab their due, they received some accolades and credit but it was almost always as a caveat in an otherwise dismal batting performance. They wrote nice things as much out of exasperation as they did out of inspiration! (Though early signs are that Soumya is also following that route...God forbid)

Some people will take a "naturally gifted" strokemaker who can't put a constructive inning together over a hardworking batsman who learned all his shots in the nets. Tamim/Imrul both came with limited "natural shots" -- rest were learned through hard work. Now they are in the top 5 list of openers since 2014!
A- avg 24, SR 80
A- avg 22, SR 70
A- avg 19, SR 60
I don't care how "exciting" they are, if they can't score runs. Calling AAA's hacks is disrespectful??? This is the most disrespectful thread to our current group of batsmen who will chew those guys and eat em apart. AAA's could hold the stickers on their bats. It's like you finally get a fine GF who treats you so good but then you go back to some fat bimbo, because of nostalgia.

Are you all seriously ignoring the fact that I called for Sabbir's 100 and he scored one within 10 hours?!
You guys should be falling to your knees and treating me like your lord so you can earn a good future from me!

^ I just said, she's treating great, WAY better than your fat bimbo unproductive gf. You have great connection with this one, you have a great future together! The only reason you wanna go back because of nostalgia or victim mentality.

I don't understand why you guys are bringing up the matter of consistency on this thread. Did you guys even read what I wrote? I never said they were more consistent, I did admit they wasted their talent, yet you guys keep harping on about their consistency and "building the innings" those things. If they were consistent and actually could build innings' regularly they would be playing for the team even now and I wouldn't need to be reminiscing their shots and I wouldn't be ruing their wasted talent.

Stop saying we don't get your point. We aren't stupid. We get your point just fine. And we are saying these guys are better, much more entertaining AND they can score runs.

Did you read what you wrote?
This thread was amusing for one reason.
You watched old highlight videos and compared with real life (NOT HIGHLIGHT). If you take the highlight video of real life (Even Imrul's) then you will be buying All State insurance.
We are indeed in "good hands".

Hate to say this, but I will...
I think Mehedi Maruf is > exciting than Mohammad Ashraful and Aftab Ahmed.
That's what I am looking forward to in every match this guy plays in.

Seriously, If Ashraful can master the Legspin thing, I honestly think there is a spot for him in our test team. With that being said, TEST ONLY. His door should be closed shut forever in other formats unless he averages over 100 in DPL and scores 7 fifty plus innings in BPL. In tests, he can take the vacant legspin slot and bat at #10 ....anything from his bat will be bonus then.
Ashraful == Bangladeshi Shahid Afridi

Talk about Aftabs sixes. Shahriar Nafees against spin, is a delight to watch. He plays it accordingly so well.

Glad I am not the only one. I find myself wanting to watch this guy. I thought I am the only one here lol... Obviously there is Shabbir too.
These are the players I look forward to currently and in order as well, they excite me as a fan..
1) Shabbir batting
2) Mahedi Maruf batting
3) Miraz batting - for controversial reasons.
4) Mahmudullah captaining
5) Shahriar & Mushfique partnerships.
5.5) Soumya batting
6) Rony bowling
7) Taskin bowling.
8) Mills bowling.
9) Mashrafe batting
If Ebadat was playing he would be up there. I think after BPL these players might be known for some of the things mentioned here.

Just ask Whatmore, he saw Sabbir give his bowlers the beating of their lives. He was also coach during Aftab/Ash era and saw their horror shows first-hand.

AAA --- ashraful, aftab, alok is history. i regret taking alok in my fantasy team even
ashraful might come back for a short stint, because we love living in the past. others have no chance
i think Shahriar nafees will definitely come back. he is stronger than ever and not that old.
But new players mind set is totally different, they are fearless and competitive. so no reason to go back
sabbir, soumya (in form), tamim are complete package, even mahmudullah is in the same category, he is revolution in last few years. i think he is the MVP of BD cricket
i am excited about mehedi maruf--he is the discovery of BPL 2016

But Dilu and aklemalp, this is not fair. What's wrong with that? Many of us are into BBW, and that includes many closeted ones too!

BTW, didn't Aftab assault his landlord or tenant in Chittagong with a Hurricane lamp and got his head busted during an argument over rent....hahaha...like a few years back.

Loved watching Ash bat. Following him was like following BD. Was also an Aftab fan. Following him was also like following BD:
Failures 50% of the time because they just weren't good enough. They were both as talented as anyone else, but that is just half of what makes a player a good player.
Another 40%, they would flirt with success, only to implode with the most attractive 30 runs ever scored.
7% of the time they would actually play a good solid knock, do everything right.
And 3% of the time, they would blow your mind that would make staying up the other 97% of the time worth it. That would make skipping class the next morning worth it. That would make failing that block next week worth it.
Never thought another player would rouse that excitement again.
But I feel the same way about Mominul now. I recalculate his batting average with every run he scores. Feel that way about the Fizz as well, and probably Miraz too.

NOTHING wrong it. I like em in all shapes and size and colors, unless she treats you like ****, then she'd have to be a Victoria's Angel to get away with her shittyness.
