Yes why stuck with the 8th batsman? Lets bring the 9th batsman in the team.

Totally dislike this backward step of having 8batters and less bowlers.
I would go with 4 + Shakib = FIVE. Shakib alone is STAR. 2pacers and another 2 SLA's plus Shakib. Mahmudullah a few overs if needed. M'Ullah is pretty OK handy spinner. But, this isnt a match to try part timers, instead need to choke them with SLA'S. This England batting dont play spin too well. Their top batters are Right handed likes of Bell, Root, Butler down the order. So, I think we should go with another 2 more SLA'S plus Obvious *Shakib* the STAR SPINNER IN our history., No point going with 3pacers with England.
If Mashrafee isnt fit then I'd go with this XI down below.
Tamim
Soumya
Mahmudullah
Mushfiqur
Shakib
Shabbir
Nasir
Rubel
Arafat
Taskin
Taijul
But, if Mash is fit then I'd take Rubel out.

Have all 11 batsman ... why not, select best bowlers from who can bat....we already have 4
Shakib, Mullah, Nasir, Sabbir & Add Mash....why do we need more bowlers? Koto aar marbe ederke? So this way we can have all 11 bats man, then Mash will be number 11 ... Not a bad idea so whatever target they give, we are ready to chase it down
Point to note; we can never bat first ... Because then they will hit on demand LOL

I am gonna fly down to Adelaide and injure whoever is involved in selecting 8 batsmen for today's game. The most nerve-wracking moment for me is gonna be I guess when I see the playing XI selected.

Probably having 8 batsmen is the way to go for us. Scoring 300+ against Scotland on a road does not always tell the true story. So however defensive it is we should play 8 batsmen. Move Sarkar to opening and bring in Nasir. May be bring in an SLA in place of Rubel or Taskin if needed.

When you have bolods, who will sacrifice a well conditioned batsman for a guy flown in the country just two days, to manage your team, even 10 batsmen won't be enough.

If we played Sarkar at 2, Riyad at 3, Mushfiq at 4, we would have had Shakib, Shabbir and Nasir waiting in the dressing room, preparing to have a go by now.
We dont need 8 batsman, we just need to get the selection and ordering correct! Disappointed with that.

We need to decipher who we are calling genuine bowlers in our squad and their quality. It's not like we are playing 8th batsman for a genuine bowler who is a Mitchel Starc or Southee quality, or heck Rahat Ali.
There's not much difference between our genuine pace bowlers and the part timers such as Sabbir and Riyadh. Both these bowlers economy was much better than our genuine bowlers Taskin and Rubel. So why not go with Nasir, instead of Rubel, who could have given us good 30-40 runs and few overs of slow bowling if needed. That change in itself would have made a significant positive impact.

^^ betaar, you can't win an ODI just by containing, you need to take wickets too. Nasir and Rubel's strike rates are nothing comparable.

Eating my humble pie for today's win. It tastes sweet either way.
My analysis is based on the inconsistency in our batters as well as well our pace bowlers, especially Rubel. Today he delivered wonderfully just as he did against NZ at home. But the stat over the last decade overshadows the onsie-twosie performances every now and then.
If the pacers can perform like this more often, then they will add more weight in their selection for a 3 or even 4 prong attack, especially outside Bangladesh. Trust me...nobody would be happier.

Riyad+Sabbir+Naair this is not a bad combination as 5th bowler specially in subcontinental condition. If we take 5 front line bowlers sometimes its a wastage of batting spot specially when our batting is weak in Australian condition.
Overall I follow one theory, in batting wicket play with 7batsman. In bowling wicket play with 8 batsman.

Eshen you echo my thoughts. We beat England because we took wickets. You can't just bowl 50 overs of spin and ask your spinners to keep it tight, eventually the batsmen will smash you.
