Default Number of Times Players have Won us a Match

This is a list i made of Number of Times Players have Won us a Match..this list only counts for the Man of the Match..others precipitation in the winning matches in not counted(like in the first win vs SL Ash scored a valid 51 runs to guide BD but once he got out Aftab scored a rapid 32 of 21 balls and won the MOM,so that win is stored under aftab not ash..and also in the WC shafiul won us the match in the last vs Ireland but Tamim got the MOM so again that win is stored under Tamim) ...so the list doesn't give u a exact info about who won us the highest Number of matches but nevertheless it will give a close assumption..and in one case when we won vs zim none of our players was MOM..so that match is discounted...noteble person missing here is alok kapali...who though played some good innings never won MOM in BD winning matches..This list includes all the matches that Bangladesh have won from 1 1st one by md rafique to last one bt Musfiqur rahim and my source was Cricinfo..so if u see a flaw or i am wrong feel free to correct

i'll update this after we win more matches
6th coloum consists of combined t2o and odi win vs top 8 teams...where the wins vs WI in 2009 is discounted and a win vs Zim in 2004 is counted as that win was vs a strong zim side...these wins are however counted in the odi column and total column so nobody got riped of a MOM in the total column

Night_wolf
Please do another thing. Create a separate column showing the percentage of MOM to No of matches played. I think that would give us the real picture. Someone who played 50 matches and won 5 MOM is better than someone who played 300 matches and won 10 MOM.

You should not. It is an away victory. Very difficult. Plus we were not in full strength. Mash, our then leader, captain went down. That would give Riyad, Raz and Shakib another MoM.

Discounting WI and adding ZIM is absurd. What squad did they face then?

not really. WI team was 3rd string, although we may not have admitted it at the time. bowling was not muhc weaker than now with Sammy, Roach in the lineup. But has anyone ever heard of any of those batsman before?

ZIM 04 was higher ranked than us at the time and won the series. they still had streak, blignaut, G flower, along with Taibu, Ervine, and some other class cricketers.

i agree with night wolf's assessment.

And Dont tell me roach is a wc player.. He has pace thats it..nothing else more..flashes of good performance here and there dont prove anything..

It's not a bad thread, i suggest we keep it and track our match winners against big 8, not surprised that Tamim isn't there.

If it wasn't for '420' umpiring Tamim's 125 against England would have been a match winning knock.

Nah bhai we got beat by England pretty handily in that match. You're thinking of the 2nd match where we lost by 2 wickets. Tamim scored 125 in the 1st ODI not the 2nd.

Now it's more clear. Not surprised to see Mash, Shakib, Nafees and Rana on the top.

So, getting MOM prize is the only indicator of identifying match winner ?

I wonder how can we back up match winners with some stats rather than considering only MOM prize ? Its not easy. Otherwise, Tendulkar would not bear the blame that he is not a match winner.

Anyway, nice effort adnan. Much appreciated.

i explained this in my OP naimul vai...remember the WC match vs ireland?..where tamim won the MOM but safiul actually won the match for us!..counting MOM will not give us actual match winners but it will give us a close assumption..and most the cases the MOM was the actual match winner..so the list though not 100% but pretty close..and its realy hard to search every winning match and find out the real match winners..so i just counted the MOM
