Default kamran khan and atul sharma

there's been a lot of talk about these 2 fast bowlers, people were thinking that atul didn't exist and though kamran has bowled that he's a chucker, but putting aside this media coverage i'm glad to see some unknown and unique finds making their way to such a tournament. kamran has played a couple of matches and taken some wickets, atul apparently got a shoulder injury from a practice match.

kamran khan:

they use to have him at 37 years old (think the official IPL site had him as 37 as well).

actually i think he's early 20s? thought he was about 22/23. kamran's age is also mixed up apparently, there is an article where they interview shane warne and he went up to kamran and said he can't believe he's only 18 and kamran apparently told warne that he's 20.

tbh haven't seen enough of him to comment, all i've seen is a couple of balls but it's pretty hard to chuck with an action like that without getting injured alot, would put a lot of pressure on your elbow. i reckon he probably twists his wrist in a similar way to shaun tait which makes him look like he might be a chucker but when you slow it down and watch it carefully he isn't.

kamran has been doing well so far, in 3 IPL matches he's got figures of 3/18 and 2/15 both off 4 overs.

May be he can run faster and catch his own ball on the other end while keeping. Usain Bolt actually left cricket cause he kinda found out about Atul.

His hand speed release of the ball at 105mph, his bowling coach as said this. Gowza is correct. He has been seen to bown around 90mph consistently, but has been out of the game sisnce he was 16 years old. His coach Ian Pont who is working with him, is on another forum, explaining how he has been building up his strength etc and has not played a single game of cricket since he was 16. he is not 16, he is 23 as verified by his coach.

i find atul's story somewhat interesting, moreso due to the unique training aspect of things, though kind of silly to not play matches imo but his action didn't look too bad in the video. also i think pont said he's clocked 108mph, he's still in the squad over in south africa so i guess there must be something to him othewise he wouldn't be there.

gowza, atul story is a hoax bythe members of the fansite ICF or something. the one in the squad is a 37 yr old batsman.

Atul Sharma isnt clocked at 108mph, his hand speed possibly is, so the speed you see on tv is more in the mid 90s, so it seems. Ian pont has tried to downplay the speed....its strange, aparently theres a "media embargo"....whether its a hoax or not, i dont know....

Neel Here- the RR website have made a mistake, look on the picture, and ull see it looks very similar to the guy in the video, i think he is real, but either warne doesnt trust him to perform ( he hasnt played a match in 6 years properly) or he's too injury prone.

speed guns used in cricket these days clock the ball out of the hand so if it is his hand speed that's been clocked then that should be pretty close to what should come up if he plays a match, though i don't believe he will bowl that quick but i'm pretty confident that he'll be as quick as the quickest around atm or thereabouts. the RR wesbiste has him list as 37 then the little intro they do of him says he's young and pacey so there is a bit of contradiction on that profile of his which tbh does seem weird but it's probably just away to still keep him a bit of a mystery until he plays a match.

he's allowed to play until proven guilty of an illegal action, here's the link to a cricinfo article:
http://content.cricinfo.com/ipl2009/...ry/402462.html

he kind of looks like he chucks, i've only really seen him bowl a couple of overs and haven't had good shots of his action in slow-mo so it's a bit tough to tell but usually with his type of action it's pretty tough to be a chucker, especially without getting injured.
