The bowling really needs to be sorted out. Our main bowlers got smashed basically. It's not the quality that's the problem. Their plans need to be readjusted. They need to understand that batsmen will go at them from ball 1. Bowling is harder and more intense in T20Is compared to ODIs.

As for the batting. One of the surprises has certainly been Mominul. We knew he can bat in Tests but his performance in these T20s were really good. Mithun was also a surprise today. Shabbir also showed what he could do.

Good thing is we got 2 T20Is coming up against SL. So we can experiment there and see how some of the newer guys do.

The squad selectors will most likely go with

1. Tamim
2. Shamsur
3. Shakib
4. Mushy
5. Nasir
6. Mominul
7. Riyad
8. Gazi
9. Mash
10. Razzak
11. Rubel
12. Anamul
13. Mithun/Shabbir
14. Al-Amin
15. Zia/Shafiul

My squad would be -

Tamim Iqbal (still indispensable)
Shamsur Rahman (technically sound and so far has shown good maturity)
Mominul Haque (continuing to amaze in all formats!)
Shakib Al Hasas (well, Shak is Shak)
Mushfiqur Rahim (comment needless)
Nasir Hossain (continuing to amaze in all formats!)
Sabbir Hossain (has big hitting ability needed down the order, his legbreacks will also add some variation to our bowling)
Sohag Gazi (I have high hopes in him)
Mashrafe Mortaza (still our best pacer)
Elias Sunny (has done enough in the practice matches to be considered ahead of Razzak)
Rubel Hossain (still the only BD pacer who can scare the opposition with pace and bounce)

Mithun Ali (did enough in practice matches to be considered ahead of Bijoy)
Mahmudullah (still a good utility player, should be kept in the squad)
Abdur Razzak (bring him back if Sunny fails)
Al Amin Hossain (only other quality pacer out there)

My conclusions from the Tournament....

Positive ones:

1. If there is one player that is equally talented in each format, it is Nasir Hossain. He is our XYZ factor for the WorldCup.
2. We have an explosive opener in hand. (Shamsur) Explosive enough to make up for Tamim's random T20 approach
3. For me, we also have a one down player. This is Mominul. True we have Mushy and Shakib for that but I feel like as seniors they should make way for prospects and take some responsibility down the order.

Negatives
1. As of now, we dont have 1 T20 bowler in the squad that we can trust to bowl 4 overs and not go less than 9 an over.
2. Riyad, Naeem failed to prove themselves to make the final 11.
3. Gazi is turning out to be a run feast for opposition batsmen. As good as he is for Test and ODI, he should not be in the T20 squad.
4. Rubel with his inability to bowl a constant good length, is also a run feast and therefore must to be in the squad.
5. Zia Zia Zia
6. Rumman, even though he performed better for the last ODI still doesnt make a case to make a T20 debut ahead of so many others. Same goes for Anamul

I dont know why all of you think Mashrafe is a must in the 20-20 team. He is basically a medium pacer who gets smashed to all corners at the end of the innings. I am Mashrafe's biggest fan and would want him to be in my team for ODIs but we must realize this is not the old Mash any more. Mash can be preferred over AL-Amin and Rubel only if selectors think his batting will be handy at the end of the innings. We need to have few more 20-20 practice matches before deciding. Both Sabbir and Mithun needs to be given chance in the Srilanka 20-20s to press their claim. My 20-20 squad so far:

Tamim
Shamsur
Mominul
Shakib
Mushfique
Nasir
Sabbir /Riad (depends on Srilanka matches)
Riad/Gazi (depends on Srilanka matches)
Reza
Razzak
Rubel/Al-Amin /Mash (only if selected as a bowling all rounder batting at no 8-9)

Riad/Sabbir (if not in XI)
Mithun
Rubel/AL-Amin (if not in XI)
Elias Sunny

may as well chuck taskin in there if he's fit, muktar ali is still someone to think about imo as the pace all rounder. soumya soumya soumya, i really wanted you to make some runs and bowl a bit more so you could be a thought for the pace all rounder spot.

Pathetic performances by everyone except for Nasir. Stay home and eat gorur goshto or wet your pants in public against Hamid Hassan? Mushfiq and team, the choice is yours.

I saw a news on TV last night that another T20 tournament might be held in Sylhet comprising of 4 teams. Top 60 players will get chance in 4 teams. The decision may be out today from BCB.
