A Different Type of Poll - The Worst Over
Most of our BC friends open a poll with interesting and possitve thoughts. I have a different type to remind something from the past. You like it or not, probably many of us will agree that above are two 'The Most Horrible Overs' in the history of Bangladesh's cricket. Now, you decide -
Which was the most painful 'over' in our cricket history?
Need a reminder?
visit two links
Option 1: Chaminda Vass bowled the first over in WC2003
Option 2: M.Murtuza's last over against Zim
Also remember to justify your vote through explanation.

has to be the first one. i remember watching that match live, and we'd hit a new low - lower than the usual low - in that tournament.

Can't make up my mind, so can't vote. They both are pain. Pains I did not wanted to remember again, damn you sar2005.
Here is a comparison between the two:
1. Zim over made us loose a win game and hence the series. SL over was one match.
2. SL over was watched by the entire world. No one cared about the Zim over.
3. Zim over was stupidity of 1 player. SL over 4 players.
4. More or less, in SL over, players did not have much to do. In Zim over, only common sense can altered the game.
5. Team selection played a big role in SL game, not in ZIM
6. Zim memory is more vivid, SL memory 4 years old.
over all, I can't decide.

I remember i made some of my friends who doesn't follow cricket that much come to my place and tried to hook up the pc with tv after spending 30 buck on wires and stuff and in 10 min the game was over...but still losing to canada has to be the worse game for BD though.

sar bhai, last over against Zim is no match with the first over against SL.
In the World Cup, the whole world was watching the disarray and the meek surrender.

I agree, it has to be that infamous over. Now, would there be another poll to see how many of us think that might repeat??

From a statistical point of view its the Vaas over but from its overall effect on the game itself its the later, so I voted for the Mash over to Zim.

the SL one was just crap from a crappy team. but the ZIM over was something we should have covered. simple as that. that was 2 different teams in 2 different eras.

The sri lankan match was one where we had no expectations and the team was a crappy one. The Zim over hurt me more because we were supposed to win that one and the last over changed not only the match result but the series as well. I will never forgive Mashrafee for that loss.

On the Zim last over we still had two games left after that. The series was not lost.
It has to be the Vass's over no doubt. 4 wickets in 1st over of the match means the game is over. You don't belong here. Why did you bother to show up? What crappy coaches you have? More over what crappy players you have? This is WC, people.

Pain can touch you, can't it? Most importantly, you can rethink to refine so that same is not repeated.
Between, it is an excellent comparison.

Some people care about show-off and some about feeling. For you, watched by whole world is an issue wherelse I care about my heart-breaking feeling of loosing a definite winner. That's why it got to be a poll
As for SL match, the match was over by first 5 deliveries of Vass, where against ZIM, we throwed away the match on the final over after developing the tajmohol of a win in the heart. Is not it much painful when your well build emarot goes down like a 'tasher ghor'??

SL one for sure.
It was a world cup and the whole world was watching.
Especially after loosing to Canada on the opening game, last thing we needed another horrendous performance by our players.
Zim was painful, but it was just a game for me. yes we did loose the series, but we could have still won the next two games ..which we didnt.so no need to blame on that ONE match for the whole series loss. I can blame the first game as well where we were in an commanding position after Shahadat's hattrick.
But a hattrick on the first over of the match on a world cup?? thats simply unforgivable. Oh, wait..it was 4 wickets...not just hattrick.
how is this for the scorecard:
BD 4/4 after 1 over
Never want to see that again

I have voted for the last over against ZIM in ZIM 2006, because it changed the fate of the game, it snatched away a definite win from our hands, it took away the maiden series win against a test playing nation in their backyard. It was a total disappointment.

I finally voted. For Zim over. Mainly because, I was not convinced with with WC 2003 team at the first place. Zim over was what can I say, 'til date I feel like only a common sense could change the outcome of a series. so, I went with that one.
