February 24, 2007
Bangladesh's players have been handed a financial incentive to perform at the World Cup with the BCB announcing bonuses for group wins and progression to the Super Eights.
For each group match Bangladesh win the players will receive US$2000 on top of their usual win bonus. If the team reaches the Super Eights there will another US$3000 for each match won in that section of the tournament...

That's amazing. What's not clear to me is, if the whole team will get $2000, or will each player get $2000. Coz if it's for the whole team, 2000 is too little. If it's for each player, 2000 is quite a lot (considering conversion rates).

We would like to announce cash incentives for the Bangladesh Cricket Team if they beat
and reach to the Super Eight stage. Along with several of my friends from New York, we are planning to meet the team at
I would like to know what our BC members think about this idea?

I will contribute $677498.12 CAD if Bangladesh beats India. The funds will be disbursed through the BCB.

Well, 10k for the whole team is not as high an incentive as already given by the board, which is $2000/player. However, it is an welcome addition. Clearly, the biggest satisfaction is the pride of the nation and as they say..
it is priceless!

At first I wondered why did not they exclude Bermuda match from the money intensive. Then it just clicked on my mind. The memory of Canada match is still in the memory. BCB just did not want that to happen again.

I am hopping; there are many rich cricket fans in BD who would come up with other incentive announcements as well. Realizing that 10k might not be a huge amount, but it could be an additional motivation for the team. Ten thou is the minimum, I am hoping for more.
I have started to communicate with my friends here at
this afternoon and I am must say that the fans (friends) are positive to the idea.

JK forgive my friend gatekeeper. Due to the nature of his job he has lost the power of calculating accurately. As we can see his calculations came out to be 40USD. :p

Didn't you guys know. The new exchange rate is US$1=CD$ 17,000. Later this year, after the invasion of Iran and the fall of US economy it'll be the other way around.

amar statement o diye disi within that time frame. ACC has investigated my source of wealth and given me the clearance. Through the investigations it became clear that it was a propaganda by some BC members close to "Hasina bua" to get my name into that list because of my extreme hatred towards her. It was only done to harass a respectable and tax paying citizen of Bangladesh who has contributed greatly to the Government exchequer by paying his taxes in full every year besides contributing towards the growth of Bangladesh's economy. :p
