This match is likely to be another draw. The weather forcast doesn't look very good. PM thunderstorm and tomorrow as well.

All four wickets were gifts to Sri Lanka. First three wickets were gifted by batsmen and the fourth by the umpire, otherwise Sri Lankan bowlers would have been sent on a bigger leather hunt.

I am now jealous of India's luck. 4 POINTS? Where they would have 0?

It's still raining, GDI! Great innings from GG this morning. It would be sheer bauldami for BCCI to bench this cat in the future. That said, I still expect my Lankans to win if they have the chance.
GO LANKA !!! ... phataya de!!!

I haven't seen the fixtures lately, but any game in Australia's east (Brisbane, Sydney, dunno about Melbourne) is likely to be a wash out. It's been pouring for last 4 days and will be according to forcast for remainder of the week.

Well done India to post 267. Away knocks should count more. Good to see dhoni scoring some runs.

Two abandoned games but some positives for India so far:
1. Dhoni's responsible innings and return among runs
2. Gambhir's responsible innings and return among runs
3. Promises shown by Rohit Sharma and Irfan Pathan (also, Harbhajan to some extent) in batting.
4. Promises shown by Sreesanth and Ishant in bowling.
Indian team is generally a slow starter. 3 games and only 1 loss so far, Not bad, i say.

Fazal Mamu,
In the points table, India is at the top - ahead of Australia and Sri lanka.
In my part of the world, it generally means being first in the class of three .

DJ there is one problem. In that table, India already played double the games than either AUS or SRI, therefore that points in the Table is pointless unless you take into consideration the game played (s0 far).

India beat SL in England and in South Africa in world cups.

Indians are so lucky...
they batted first and rain didnt affect them in both matches. and opposition bowlers worked so hard but their batsmen couldnt bat.....
India's bowlers are so lucky....

India would have won. Best thing about the match was a competition between Indian and Sri Lankan supporters during the innings break where they had to race each other in giant blow up balls. That's right, one guy was inside the ball, running like in those hamster wheels while another two pushed. Should have taken a picture haha. They always have stuff like that at the Gabba. They also got some of the players and team physios and trainers racing each other with remote control cars during the rain. And some of the Indian players kicked around a soccer ball. Wish we had the rest of the match though

two draws for india.
perhaps india would have lost the 1st game and won the second for, so loss for them
australia will fell they are two points short.
srilanka may be lucky to get two points.
srilanka would also loved some batting in their belts.
anyway a good tournament ahead.

I think India would have won this game. Another wet pitch and ball would have given India the edge like the last game against Australia - greater movement of the ball.
So far 2 things stand out. India leads the table with 4 points and I HATE rain.

Good rescue act though SL has a good experienced batting line up. Sanga, Jaya, Jayasuriya - should be an interesting match.

i didnt bother to watch the match, but im guessing it was a flat pitch, as both gambhir and dhoni scored heavily....credit to them both though! however, this is expected of dhoni, he's managed his single good innings of this particular tour, and now he will no longer contribute much.....they shud rest him and make Sachin captain the remainder of the matches, thats how much i doubt his ability.....
