Default ZSayeed or other stat lords. Help wanted.

This is to ZSayeed Bhai. Or any other stats bosses in BC.

Yo mayne, what's good?

Needed some help on this project I'm doing.

What are some of the best tools for comparing two sets of data?
In one column, I have one's avg. sleep hours, and in the other column I have their caffeine intake.

I know regression analysis is one if using minitab 16. What are some other cool ones?Preferably easy to understand.

Thanking in advance,

Roey

I am not a stat lord by any mean. But, there are many good packages including SPSS (not free) or R. A list is here.

*blush*

Matlab (not free but lots of copies available in BD)
Octave (similar to matlab and free!) - writing code is like writing english after 2 days of learning. Same with Matlab.

Ofcourse Excel. and regression analysis should be simple enough.

I would recommend WEKA- I use it all the time for my Machine Learning work. Octave as ZSayeed mentioned is also good. I would also recommend you look into R - a GNU open source programming language for statistical computing and graphics. There are quite a few R GUIs and IDEs available.

Okay. Thanks everyone. I wasn't looking for software, rather techniques. I'm going with the paired sample test, regression analysis and this thing called ANOVA which I'm still yet to figure out. But thanks anyway, it's the thought and effort that counts and should always count.

And idumb, caffeine intake was a prerequisite for this study. In any case, 4.5 hours is shocking! You really need some big azz shrimps, so the blood goes in your stomach for digestion, making you lightheaded and sleepy.

BC SQUAD UP! And I'm out.

^^^ Microsoft Excel can do all that. You have to have MSOffice though.

Oh, thank you. I like yours too, though it makes me read every post of yours thinking you are embarrassed or sheepish about something! The tiger hiding its face with its paws I mean.
