If Mullah wasn't the VC, would they change the XI for him? No! I don't see any reason to drop a top order batsman to bring in a middle order. I don't like Imrul, but unless we are bringing in a PROPER opener, I don't find any reason to drop him.

To send out a message, selectors shouldn't pick Riyad. And the message is whether you are a captain or a vice captain or THE Ashraptain, your spot is not guaranteed.

Agreed with the Riyad comments. He is a vital component to our test XI but I dont think bringing him in now would make that much sense.

Do we need Rok and Naeem in the same line up if Naeem isn't used regularly as a bowler? They offer the same thing but at different places on the batting order. He could replace one of them. They've both done alright in this match but it's not like Riyad can't score a 30-40 in one of the innings and take a couple of wickets either.

Much as I like Riyad and think he should be batting at four, I dont think he should be tossed into a Test team without first-class warmup games.

Personally, the only change I'd make is to drop a slow bowler for a third quick, and given how Sunny is bowling that means Nasir Hossain is congratulated on a reasonable Test debut involving some gutsy batting and economical offspin and is dropped for reasons of team balance.

I like the squad, only shahadat need to cut for nazmul or shafiul(if he's fit).

wow that was politely harsh lol. I think its redundant to have all three of nasir riyad and naeem. From the three off spinning allrounder trio, one of them just has to go. The following question is who ?

Naeem: The genuine test specialist ? Riyad: VC who also has a reasonable test record ? or Nasir: who is pretty lethal, can score quick and is currently performing according to the team needs (except the way he throws his wicket away).

funny how couple of 30s and 40s and u guys suddenly dont want one of our better test batsman! And you guys complain about our selection panel!

Leave the fitness part to him and the physio and trainer. If he is fit he can replace any of Roqib, Naeem, Nasir

He performed good in the BCB cup and practice matches.

Dhaka wicket is different from Chtg. And WI has learnt their lesson. 2nd test will be hard for Bangladesh. Batsmen have to do well. Wicket needs to have turn.
About player selection MUllahh should not be picked since he just recovered from sickness he
might not be fit. I would prefer one or two replacement(s). Imrul needs to be dropped. Nazmul
can be picked up in Rubel's spot.

^^ I strongly disagree with dropping Rubel. He might go for runs but he also looks like someone who will get wickets, especially on a track that aids pacers. In Chittagong, his wicked bouncer to Carlton Baugh went for four. In another match it might have been a catch to Rahim or a close-in fielder.

(In line with the current atmosphere of BC: What if?)

Oh and I also intended to say that I like Nazmul and think he is a clever bowler. But at best he can be tried as a third seamer. Difficult to drop any of the batsmen/allrounders though.

The selectors have their work cut out.

I know everyone will be furious on me as most of the people in BC like to see 3 pacers in our side, but considering pacer's bowling in test in Bangladesh (in recent past), I would go for a turning pitch with just one pacer(Rubel) and include Razzak inplace of Shahadat. I believe, Razzak will take more than one wicket (While playing in our ground, our pacers usually take a maximum of 2 wickets/innings and we tend to bring spin within 10 overs to break a partnership). Of course, this should not be a trend but, can be seen as home strategy.

Drop Imrul and Naeem, bring Mahmudullah and another pacer in, get Nafees to open with Tamim.

I agree with dropping Imrul, but not Naeem. He didn't score many, but I think he showed the right temprement by staying out there for the long haul.

I think the selectors might drop Imrul, promote Nafees to partner Tamim as opener and bring in Mahmudullah to the middle order (perhaps with everyone else moving up a position and Mahmudullah slotiing in at 7 or 8).

I also think there's a chance Raqibul might be dropped...

I agree to change only one place where is Imrul kayes but Nayeem, he showed right temperment of Test match & BD line up isn't always stable. So he is very urgent when any batting collapse. I don't know why some guys suggest to drop Nayeem.

Naeem, although inflated, averages in the 30's in tests

I respect what Nasir has done. The man has done well in his first Test, and he is certainly in mind for more, but we simply need another quick.

And if he cant cope with this level of ruthlessness, then he should not play Test cricket.

I think either the same squad will be playing or Riyad will be in for SN. It will depend on how the physio feel about Riyad's condition. We must not forget that this is a 5 day match. not an ODI.

SN just had a 50. It'll be harsh if he gets the chop
