Default Vacant No. 4 Position in ODIs

We know it that Rokon will be replacing Akram Khan, and we also know that Alok Kapali is not yet a confident batsman to bat at 4.

So, we still have a vacant number 4 position, which Sanwar Hossain or Tushar Imran could fill.

But we also know the limitations of both Sanwar and Tushar. Tushar is not really in form if you forget about his 48 against Kenya in the world cup. And Sanwar is as bad as Tushar Imran.

Probably there is a scope of experimenting with Rokon filling up the number 4 and Kapali to come in at 5, and then Sujon at 6 and the rest coming in later in the order in ODIs.

But that does not give a good solid middle order if the top order fails to perform (Golla, Ashraful, Sumon trio).

It is still frustrating to see that we are struggling to find a proper middle order batsman to bat at 4 & 5.

If Moniruzzaman turns out a good player, then may be he can fill in the number 4 position, but that too, does not sound dependable.

Why not just have Bidyut open in the innings with Golla, have Ash at 3, Sumon at 4, Rokon at 5 and Kapali at 6 in one dayers? Actually, that looks pretty good as a Test line-up too. Ashraful doesn't necessarilly have to open in ODIs. He can just as well come in at 3 if Bidyut does well as an opener.

I don't see why Rokon or Golla can't bat there

That's a good suggestion, but only if Bidyut can return properly like he used to be. I know it for a fact that Bidyut doesn't even have a one day fifty except for against Zimbabwe and Kenya.

Or, it could also be like Sumon at 3 and Ashraful at 4.
