30 krore annual fee first year is quite impressive. But not sure if that's believable, haha. But if it's true hope BCB can start using that money and paying the NCL 4 day league players and coaches good money now. Atleast 2-3 lakh per season and then taking care of them in the offseason with indoor training facilities so they don't get fat and unfit.

বিপিএল আয়োজনের দায়িত্ব পেতে ভারতের তিনটি ইভেন্ট ম্যানেজমেন্ট প্রতিষ্ঠান জেমন্ড, সলিউশন আন লিমিটেড ও শো টাইম প্রাথমিক ভাবে মনোনিতো হয়েছিলো। ১৬ নভেম্বর তাদের প্রস্তাবনা তুলে ধরার পর আইনগত এবং আনুসঙ্গীক দিক খতিয়ে দেখে বিসিবি। পরে তাদেরকে অর্থনৈতিক প্রস্তাব করতে বলা হয়। তিনটি প্রতিষ্ঠানের মধ্য থেকে সার্বিক বিবেচনায় যারা প্রথম হয়েছে বুধবারের সভায় তাদেরকেই বিপিএল আয়োজনের সত্ত্ব দেওয়ার সুপারিশ করেছে কমিটি। সলিউশন আন লিমিটেড এই দয়িত্ব পাচ্ছে বলে জানা গেছে।

বিপিএল কমিটির সদস্য সচিব সিরাজউদ্দিন মোহাম্মদ আলমগীর বাংলানিউজকে জানান,“বোর্ড সভায় অনুমোদনের পর নাম প্রকাশ করা হবে। অনুমোদনের আগেই প্রকাশ করা হলে অন্য প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলো হতাশ হবে।”

যে প্রতিষ্ঠানকেই দায়িত্ব দেওয়া হোক তারা ছয় বছরের জন্য বিসিবির সঙ্গে চুক্তিবদ্ধ হবে। প্রথম বছর ৩০ কোটিরও বেশি টাকা দেবে। আলমগীর জানান, প্রথম বছর শেষে হলে পরের বছর বেশি অর্থ দিতে হবে। এভাবে প্রতিবছরই আর্থিক মুনাফা করবে বিসিবি। তবে সেটা কি হারে বাড়ানো হবে তা জানা যায়নি।

প্রতিযোগিতা আয়োজনের সময় নির্ধারণ করা হয়েছে ২০১২ সালের ফেব্রুয়ারি মাসবে। তবে নির্ধারিত দিনক্ষণ চূড়ান্ত হয়নি।

বাংলাদেশ প্রিমিয়ার লিগ ‘বিপিএল’ টি-টোয়েন্টি ক্রিকেটের আয়োজন করে ৪’শ কোটি টাকা আয় হবে বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট বোর্ড (বিসিবি)’র।

ছয় বছরে এই পরিমাণ টাকা আয় করবে বিসিবি। ভারতীয় ইভেন্ট ম্যানেজমেন্ট প্রতিষ্ঠান গেম অন স্পোর্টস ম্যানেজমেন্ট বিপিএল আয়োজনের স্বত্ব পেয়েছে। সোমবার বিসিবির নির্বাহী কমিটির এক জরুরী সভায় এই বিষয়ে চূড়ান্ত সিদ্ধান্ত হয়।

বিসিবি প্রধান নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা (সিইও) মঞ্জুর আহমেদ মুঠোফোনে বাংলানিউজকে বলেন,“সবচেয়ে বেশি মুনাফা দিতে রাজি থাকায় গেম অন স্পোর্টস ম্যানেজমেন্টকে বিপিএল আয়োজনের স্বত্ব দেওয়া হয়েছে।”

বিসিবি এক সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে জানায়, তাদের পেছনে থাকা ইভেন্ট ম্যানেজমেন্ট প্রতিষ্ঠান সলিউশন আন লিমিটেডের চেয়ে ৮৩ কোটি টাকা বেশি দিচ্ছে গেম অন। তৃতীয় স্থানে থাকা শো টাইম অনেক কম টাকা দেওয়ার প্রস্তাব করলে প্রতিযোগিতা থেকে আগেই ছিটকে পড়ে।

দুই বছরের ব্যাংক গ্যারান্টি নিয়ে গেম অনের সঙ্গে চুক্তিতে যাবে বিসিবি। প্রায় ৯৩ কোটি মার্কিন ডলার গ্যারান্টি থাকবে। বিপিএল কমিটির সদস্য সচিব সিরাজউদ্দিন মোহাম্মদ আলমগীর বাংলানিউজকে জানান,“মঙ্গলবার আমরা গেম অনকে আনুষ্ঠানিক জানিয়ে দেবো। ৭ দিনের মধ্যে তাদেরকে দুই বছরের ব্যাংক গ্যারন্টি দিতে হবে। এরপর চুক্তির শর্তগুলো চূড়ান্ত করে চুক্তি করবো।”

বিসিবি সিইও জানান, খেলার সাত দিন আগে প্রায় ৪৩ কোটি মার্কিন ডলার পাওয়া যাবে গেম অনের কাছ থেকে। খেলা শেষ হওয়ার সঙ্গে সঙ্গে তৃতীয় বছরের ব্যাংক গ্যারান্টিও নিশ্চিত করবে গেম অন। তিন বছর পর চুক্তি নবায়ন।

কোন কারণে ইভেন্ট ম্যানেজমেন্ট প্রতিষ্ঠান বিপিএল আয়োজনে ব্যর্থ হলে দুই বছরের টাকা বিসিবি ব্যাংকের কাছ থেকে পাবে। সিরাজউদ্দিন আলমগীর বলেন,“অতীতে নিম্বাস এবং অন্যান্য প্রতিষ্ঠানের সঙ্গে চুক্তির তিক্ত অভিজ্ঞতা থেকে এবার আমরা সচ্ছতা রাখতে চাই। যাতে বিসিবিকে আর্থিক ক্ষতির মুখে না পড়ে। বা কোনভাবে ঠকাতে না পারে।”

চুক্তি সম্পন্ন হলে দল নির্বাচন করা হবে। যে কোন প্রতিষ্ঠান দল কিনতে পারবে। বিদেশি কোম্পানিরগুলো স্থানীয়দের নিয়ে দল কিনতে পারবে। ছয়টি দল খেলবে প্রতিযোগিতায়। ফ্রেঞ্চাইজ পদ্ধতিতে দলগুলো চলবে। যদিও এখন পর্যন্ত কোন দলের নাম ঠিক হয়নি। দল বিক্রি করে অর্থ উপার্জন করবে গেম অন। টুর্নামেন্টের লাভক্ষতি দেখবে না বিসিবি। নিয়ন্ত্রক সংস্থা হিসেবে কাজ করবে। অতএব চুক্তির পুরো টাকাই আয় করছে ক্রিকেট বোর্ড।

আন্তর্জাতিক দরপত্রের মাধ্যমে বিপিএল আয়োজনে বিভিন্ন ইভেন্ট ম্যানেজমেন্ট প্রতিষ্ঠানকে আহ্বান করা হয়। ১৬ নভেম্বর হোটেল শেরাটনে ভারতীয় ওই তিন প্রতিষ্ঠানের প্রতিনিধিরা উপস্থিত থেকে তাদের প্রস্তাবনা তুলে ধরে। পরে তাদেরকে আর্থিক প্রস্তাবনা দিতে বলা হয়।

CHITTAGONG: The Bangladesh Cricket Board has accepted an offer of approximately $51 million from Indian firm Game On Sports Management for six editions of a Twenty20 competition, the BCB said on Monday.

The Indian Premier League-style Twenty20 tournament, named the Bangladesh Premier League, will be launched in February with six franchises.

The BCB picked Game On from three Indians firms who had submitted a financial offer to run the competition last month.

The offer from Game On is $10 million more than the next best offer from Solutionz Unlimited, BCB spokesman Jalal Yunus said.

"Initially Game On will deposit the proportionate amount of guaranteed money for two seasons to our account," he said after an emergency BCB meeting.

Twenty20 cricket is becoming increasingly popular in Bangladesh since neighbouring India launched the IPL four years ago.

6 years ? its way too much. The way value of TK going down and inflation is going up, after 2-3 years, the value of expected money will be less in years time.

Its always better to have short term contract so that you have a chance to revalue the contract. 3 years contract would have been fine but beshi khawar lobh shamlaite parlo na Loitta bahini.

Thats why most international deals are done in either US$s or UK£s

i understand but 6 years is too long for my liking. Prolly, BCB officials felt insecured of the future/prospect of BPL. thats why they opted for safe route. Their move is understandable considering first time ever they are going to implement such a huge tournament.
