Hail King Ronaldo
15 goals already.. making him the highest goal scorer in the history of World Cup
wow !!
Congrats Ronaldo...
Inspite the debate about his form and fitness, Ronaldo has already managed to score 3 goals so far..( still half time against Ghana)..
Being the higest goal scorer in the wc is one of the greatest acheivements...
not even players like Pele, Maradona, Beckenbaeur, Croeff, Eusobio .. u name it...
he is at the top...
im starting this thread to applaud and honor this great achievement by Ronaldo..
Pls post ur comments here...

Ronaldo isnt shining as he did last world cup. I hope this doenst screw up the team's effort. In 98 World Cup his team relied on him too much and it paid the price in finals.

He could have got two more goals.. if he didnt miss the last one and if Adriano didnt do that selfish act earlier in the match. Its somehow really amazing how Ronaldo answers back to the critics.

The 3 goals Ronaldo has scored so far, have all been pretty decent. But I'm still unconvinced.
If he can prove himself against one of the better sides now, starting with France on Friday, I'll be won ever.
But I congratulate the guy on breaking the record, nonetheless.

it took him 3 worldcups to score that many goals? also most of his goals are against teams like - Japan, Morocco, China, Costa Rica, Turkey, Ghana. Wonder how many matches he played in total to get 15 goals considering brasil mostly played against weak nations or just average teams so far in the last couple of world cup finals.

but he scored 15 and thats what matters. scoring goals is not so easy and he deserves some appreciations from everyone and he is not the only one to play against weak teams

Indeed.
May be he played 3 world cups and may be more WC matches than any of his contemporary players but it takes a lot to return to the world cup and keep the goal machine running. Nothing was granted.. he had to earn every penny of it.

its not Brazil plays against weaker or average opponents..
its just that they make other teams look average when played against them..
thats how good they are...
and whom u calling weak nations or average... remember every time that made it to the tournament had qualified from their groups and continental zones.. so they are all better than average to start with... they are playin in the wc because they deserve to..( exept one or two exceptions)...
even Saudi beat most other Asian teams to be there...
and you are telling me Ghana and japan are average teams ??
one is Asian champion and the other showed their great potential and used to be the youth or under 17 world champs ....

I don't think ability is the right word to use there. Watching that video again brought back all the fond memories I had of Ronaldo in his Barcelona/Inter Milan days. Whilst he never quite forgot how to finish, the numerous knee reconstructions he has had to endure over the years have clearly taken its toll on his body, starting with his weight problems.
I just wish we could rewind 5-10 years and experience that brilliance all over again.

Ronaldo was simply amazing if look back his days from 95 to 98. He was fast, powerful, and an amazing ability to score. He played his best games for Barcelona and I vividly remember watching him play in spanish league in TV. I was not Barca supporter , but, just beause of Ronaldo, i used to watch their games. He was unbelievable. I was really disappointed when he switched to Inter. I never liked Italian football. Its so much ugly and defensive and there is hardly any goals in matches. Spanish football is so much better with free flowing attack and it was sad to see him move to Italia. I think, that was his biggest mistake in life , which eventually took atleast 3 golden years of his life. Ppl talk abt Messi or Roony or even Robinho, but, Ronaldo at this age was simply unstoppable and a fearsome goal scoring machine. They are no where near to what ronaldo was at this age.
