Planning to do a food trip in around Dhaka during my stay next year. Lots have changed so looking for some solid current suggestions.

Any foodie here - care to list the best food hubs to visit with best dishes zone by zone

I haven't had lal shag perhaps since 1991. I remember how much I used to love that with little prawns. The same is true with spinach, but of course this is readily available even as frozen cubes here in the UK.

I never really enjoyed the taste of traditional fish dishes as a child, the smell being too 'fishy'! I did love fried slices of hilsa though, again something I haven't had in so long. It probably doesn't help that I have been vegeterian since 1995, but maybe, one day I wouldn't mind trying out a traditional macher jhol

I wasn’t much of a fish fan when I was in Bangladesh. The saying has merit Bhattay Massay Bangalee. I think it was after 6 months after I came to the Uk that I craved for fish. This guy from Kolkata made me daal and I ended up making fish finger bhartaa. Good times.

Jokes aside, I am actually in Toronto and for the first time in 4 years I had Nando's. Last time was in Bangladesh where a prodigy BC member treated me. In South Africa we had the chain and it was great. Nando's really is my Achilles heel and kryptonite. Maybe I should take advantage of it and treat myself again...

Mr Greek is good too. I had it 20 years ago.

Other than that... my vice is Argo and Tea Leaves iced tea.

Frikkin hell. To capitalize on the runner's high with a frothy Argos black tea from Nilgiri with Carolina honey is frikkin heaven on earth man.

Yes, it is cooked with that hard exo-skeleton bones.

It has an acquired taste.

This is the case of a food where looks can be deceiving.
