I don't have any problem with that if he scores runs. Then the Basher bashers will forget all the ridiculous stuff they said about him only few days ago.

if bashar scores a 50 and at that point BD score is 100/6 or he scores a 100 and BD score is 200/8 and then pulls a ball and gets out, i'll still call him irresponsible as he reached his personal goal of scoring a 50 or 100, but didn;t care about team's need. but if he scores 20 while BD score is 250/3 and then pulls and gets out i won't blame him. he has to play according to the situation. he is the captain. we can't just let him do whatever he wants to do justr because "he has the best average". i don't care about his average. unless he plays for our country, i'll still call him irresponsible. he is the captain of a very very young side. he isn't just a top order batsman now. he is the leader and he needs to play like a leader.

nobody's a born bashar or ashraful basher. whoever performs deserves praises and whoever fails continously or commits same mistake over and over again (not occassionally), deserves criticism so that they themselves can correct their mistakes. if a child who comes first in class every year suddenly starts failing every exam and his mother says oh he is a good student he will come first next time, that student is very likely not to come first again or atleast not very soon. on the other hand if that child fails an exam and his mother tries to correct his mistakes theres a chance he will come first again very soon.

For our team in Test cricket,

Playing for personal goals = Playing for the team

I am distressed to see so much hate messages for Bashar. Is he the only culprit in this disaster? I think not!

Please, people, come to your senses and lay off Bashar. True, he did not play the "captains-knock", but many captains in other teams perform just as badly, but are supported by talented team mates. Unfortunately for Bashar, he is in a team of untalented players (himself included), so when he fails, usually his team mates also fail, and his faults are magnified....

Having said all this, I agree that Bashar has a higher degree of blame than other players in the team, on account of him being captain, but not on account of him as a batsman.... as I said he is not the only culprit in the batting department...

Huh! Hate??

Calling Bashar stupid or whatever we've called him so far is more frustration than hate.

This is tough love :P

Why just Bashar? Why does Ashraful get away with it?

Ashraful is the Soeb Akhtar of Bangladesh team. Keeps praising himself. "The two times I scored a 100, both the times bd scored past 300. So I look at it this way. If I play well, then the team score will be good." And this is not the only time he said such things. Its his common groove.

tao hojom hoito, if he actually performs like promises. ekta innings bhalo khele, aar sheita bhaijja khay porer 7/8 ta innings-e.

And again, If I upset somebody, I apologize. Paraphrasing Sauron, its more frustration than hate.

pinch _hitter,

it is a minor issue, but please note that Ashraful did NOT give his wicket away this time.. .. so that is the difference..

Scoring runs is not only a responsible job for a captain, captancy means being responsible and showing leadership when a team is in a critical situation. Bashar failed in Lords with bat, showing his dull head and shamelessness. When Shahadat was giving way 10/11 runs per over in the first few overs, he should have been immediately replaced. Bahsar sould have let Aftab and Ashraful bowl few more overs as other bowlers are not imprssive.

He did not do it because is the stupidiest captain I have ever seen for the Bengal Chickens.
