Default Mashrafee Should not acted this way with Taskin

Really, camera was all over on them and What Mashrafee did was very sad.

I think it's really pathetic that you opened a thread about it. There were beautiful moments in the game too (i.e. the chest bump.)

I ask mod's attention on it.

Hahahaha

Have you ever played any sports whatsoever, people get motivated in Different ways, maybe Taskin needs a telling off, we saw how he failed when no one did that vs nz, captain needs to motivate his players, he needs to do it how he feels will work with individual players and it did work he bowled much better after this

Sure there were a lot more positives in the game for Bangladesh but this basically also proves that Mashrafe couldn't handle the pressure of the match yday.

^Exactly. Must give credit where it's due. He led from the front and helped us win matches in the WC but in this match he just totally lost control. His bowling was awful and much worse than what the eventual figures of 69/1 suggest. Rubel, Taskin, and the spinners would bowl beautifully and create a lot of pressure on the batsmen, then Mash would enter the scene, bowl at 120kph without line and length, and help release it. If he had to bowl in situations where Rubel and Tasking bowled his figures would've looked something like 115/1.

Team India had more to lose than us and that's why they were naturally under more pressure. Mash failing to lead by example and putting so much unnecessary pressure on himself and the whole team shifted the pressure on to us. This was evident in the sloppy fielding by our usually reliable fielders like Soumya and Nasir. His inability to keep calm and cope with pressure was probably one of the primary reasons of our downfall. This is where leaders like Dhoni/ABD/Clarke/McCullum/Misbah et al separate themselves from the rest.

I agree, I think Mashrafee worst mistake was letting Raina and Rohit get away by bringing himself on to bowl. At that time, we needed to keep on Taskin or Rubel to keep them under pressure. The Indian batsmen played cautiously against those two, but did not care much for Mashrafee. He saved Rubel/Taskin for last 10, but any bowler goes for runs during that period to be honest. If we took one of those two earlier, it could have seriously dropped India's final tallly.

cant blame him for that... last time he brought himself back on, he won the game for us against England. He had to save Rubel for the end. It was better him bowling in the middle than at the end

Mash lost his cool. If bowlers aren't bowling according to the plan, or if the fielders aren't fielding well yelling at them in front of the whole world won't help them get it together. Especially yelling at a 19 year old kid bowling vs No.1 batting side! I'm sure other captains yell at their players too, to get their act together but this wasn't that type of thing. This was a case of Mash losing his **** and losing the game in process.

Couple of days ago I said Mash would be the weak link and Indians would target him. And I asked if his bowling is not going well will he be able to maintain good leadership and make good decisions in the field? The answer is sadly no. This is why most bowlers aren't captains. Because they have to do two big jobs at once, bowl and captain. Batsmen have the luxury of batting and not worry about the other stuff, like field placements, bowling rotation.

And after Shakib's brainfart vs NZ I wondered whether the other 10 players in the team were also having a brainfart at the same time. Asked why didn't anyone come and talk sense into Shakib? Mash won't get it right all the time like he did vs Eng and someone will need to talk to him. But would they? The answers is once again no! And nobody did. No one told him him to put a slip in when edges kept going down first slip. No one told Mash to bowl himself out early, instead of bowling in the death/bpp. Or better yet, not bowl his quota at all and give more overs to Sabbir and Riyad or even Mya. What worked vs Eng wouldn't work here. And someone had to go up and tell him that. Shakib or Rahim.

I've never hated more to find answers to my questions! These are bad bad answers!

Not suprised with Mash's behaviour at all. He crumbles easily under pressure and that is evident from his inability to bowl at the death. A captains behaviour under pressure easily rubs off against the remaming players and that was pretty evident yesterday.
The sad part is we dont have any other captaincy options at the moment.

Much ado about nothing. They have a great relationship as shown from the chest bumps and numerous selfies on Facebook.

Well he has been a good captain throughout but yesterday he was woeful. He was bowling under 120 and that is not a speed you would want to bowl to top class batsman.

And the issue with us is, we are lacking a good death over specialist. Someone who can get the yorkers right and also bowl those steep slower bouncers.
