Default Just how good was Sabbir's innings?

This was one of the best innings I hv seen from a BD batsman.

He carried the innings from 2 wickets down early while taking the attacks to the opposition.

There were absolute power hitting. Even shakib and mushy cant muscle balls for boundaries that cleanly.

Only other batsmen who showed this kind of hitting were Ashraful and Aftab. But the huge difference is their intelligence.

It was one of the memorable one.

While all struggled, he single handedly scored ... and not only scored ... he scored at an decent RR.

Probably the best t20 innings by a BD player. Maybe Ashraful's vs Windies in the first world t20 might have been better.

"Just how good was Sabbir's innings?"

The answer is very simple - good enough to get us home and win us the match.

^^ lol. True.

However, from a broader context from historical perspective of following BD cricket, this was an innings that would leave many veteran ardent BD fans in sheer joy.

I would probably still keep Ashraful's one ahead. That was a World Cup and not played at home. Otherwise brilliantly paced, chose right balls to hit.

We can add all his good, top, important knocks on this thread.

Any highlights for this knock against SL?

Struggled a little against spin. Lost his balance few times going for big shots. I have said it earlier he is not a finished product. We underestimate his true potential. If coaches work with him properly and he is ready to work hard than he has the potential to be a great LOI batsman. I will go far and call him similar to kohli of 2008. Kohli is here today because of his sheer hard work and proper guidance. Lets see how far sabbir goes.

Amazing performance. Dominated the opposition. I think he is making the number 3 spot his own, not just in T20, should also be given the ODI spot.

What i also like about Shabbir is he was no wonder boy like the Anamul's and Ashraful's. Made it to the team through performance. And once he got there he worked very hard to improve.

If there is one thing he needs to improve on is his tendency of always targeting deep mid wicket. I think all three matches he got caught there. So perhaps he could learn to come down and track and loft it over long on, or learn how to play inside out etc.

I am happy for Sabbir. Alhamdullilah.

But don't expect him to score a 80+ runs every game. Sure he's in form, but I expect him to score around 40's consistently with a healthy SR from now on that he's in the form of his life.
