Default BANGLADESHIS NEED TO SUPPORT THEIR FOOTBALL TEAM

Ladies and gents. Brothers and Sisters. AssalamuAlaikum.

As many might be aware that football once was the biggest and best loved sport in Bangladesh, it was once the national sport of Bangladesh. Football has been not doing so much well last some certain years or so. But, why they haven't done well facts remains : they don't get enough funding, they don't have much facilities, they don't have much academies, they don't have proper system hence the decline is bound. But no matter what has been going on with the football team, Football is still the biggest loved sport in Bangladesh (no matter what the cricket lovers might say) Football is in the Bangladeshi blood....Come Football World cup you will see Bangladesh painted in Argentina and Brazil colours through the country, you NEVER DON'T see that associated with other sport or event.

While recently, the cricket team has done well, the support for cricket has rising up so much (and it should rightly so, its another sport we must sport support our nation Bangladesh in all sports anyway), because of success in the International arena. But, have faith, Football is not only played by 10 full nations, football is much harder, even big nations like China don't have great team or neither ranked within the top 50!

Football is the worlds mega sport, mega nations are having hard to get into this in a big way, Bangladesh BFF dont have even quarter of what China and other some big/rich nations (those who are trying to make it to football in the top end ) have in terms of facilities/sponsorships/funding and other things which are need to develop the game. What ever we have we have done well in the regions where we play in history. One must be patient and not come to conclusions that we are not good enough because we haven't made it to World Cup ; BECAUSE we simply dont have the facilities/funding/sponsorships, the system yet, and despite all that football is still huge in BD.

PS... I believe (InshAllah) one day BANGLADESH will become a top ASIAN football side and will qualify for the World Cup, if providing: they have proper system, facilities, funding given to them.

A strong passion for football does exist in Bangladesh (and also most other South/ South East Asian countries), nearly every teenagers watch EPL, La Liga or Bundes League. And during the world cup, sometimes I highly doubt that even an average Brazilian or Argentinian is as passionate and vocal about their national team as an average Bangladeshi.

The love for football is there in our country, and it's growing. Back when I was residing in Bangladesh, everyone played football on the streets, local parks and ovals. It is no doubt, more people play football than cricket. But the problem is there is a large gap between our amateur level and professional level football.

Sad thing is even with the funding, I doubt that we can come out as a powerhouse in Asia. Look at the Chinese Super League and Indian Super League, they are signing players from Europe and former star players who are close to their retirement to play with their local players. Even that hasn't improved their national team much, especially for India. Even with high funding, our national team will take decades to make a jump to a permanent 100-125 position in world rankings. We have a huge ladder to climb, and I doubt that in our lifetime we will see Bangladesh playing in an Asia cup, let alone a world cup.
