Default 5 Feb 2003 - BAN vs KwaZulu-Natal - WC2003 Warm-up One Day

We are going for a win in this match ... The last match, a good chase was halted by some poor batting but this one will see us through.

Default Only 2 changes for 2nd warm up

There are only 2 changes for Bangladesh in the 2nd warm up match against KwaZulu Natal.

The changes are - Tushar Imran came in place of Ashraful and Tapash Baisya has come in place of Sujon.

This time Monju took AM Amla's wicket. May be A Amla is going through a really bad patch.

Default Pilot is again showing poor captancy now

Monju's econ rate was 5.26 after 5 overs.

Mashrafee bowled 4 overs.

Then Pilot brought Tapash Baisya at the end Mashrafee was bowling.

And now Monju is bowling from the other end (Monju's 6th over). And he already gave away 1 four in his 6th over.

And Mashrafee gave away only 8 runs in his 4 overs.

while Monju gave away 31 runs in his 6 overs.

Tapash also bowled his first over well - gave only 2 runs (including a no ball).

May be (in defense of Pilot) Mashrafe is instructed to bowl only 4 overs in each spell due to his physical fitness.

Mashrafe has come to bowl the 15 over (his 5th over) after giving Monju a 2 over spell (that is, after Monju finished his 7th over - 32 runs).

Default Kapali came in to bowl 17th over

Alok Kapali was smashed for 2 fours back to back (plus 3 singles) in his first over.

Just gets to show how inconsistent he is.

Or rather, that there is a clear difference between batsmanship of a county side of a test playing nation (KwaZulu Natal) and the national team of a non-test playing nation (Namibia).

It could also be dependent on the pitch. May be the Durban pitch is not helping for spinners at all.

Default Tapash was just hit for a 6

HM Amla hit Tapash for a six to bring up the 100 runs for KZN in the 22nd over.

Default Rain delay at 23rd over, KZN are 109/1

Hope Bangladesh can get some batting practice tonight in this warm up match.

KZN's run rate is now 4.74 - with the loss of just 1 wicket.

Rafique was coming into bowl the 24th over.

There is no chance - whatsoever for Bangladesh to win this match now.

I don't understand, How come this KZN team is so strong that we are not able to bowl properly?

And how come Kenya could defeat Border in the 2nd warm up game?

According to the table provided here by somebody on this board, Border was at number 1 spot and KZN was at number 3 position in the last Standard Bank limited overs competition.

Default We are heading for a defeat

Looks like us, Holland and Canada are the only teams that will be going to the world cup with no win in the warm up matches. - Unless, Holland or Canada beats their opposing team in their 2nd warm up match.

Kwa Zulu Natal are 142 for the loss of 1 wicket after 30 overs. Their run rate is 4.73.

Overs left to bowl by Bangladeshi bowlers are:

Heeeey, Alok Kapali has come into bowl again and gave away 8 runs to H Amla this time (back to back fours) and a wide. (The last time he gave away back to back fours to Saunders.

Okaay - just now Kapali took the wicket of Saunders

30.4 Alok Kapali to Saunders, OUT: oooh trys to block played on

Bowling O M R W
Manjural Islam 7 0 32 1 (5w)
Mashrafe Mortaza 5 1 15 0 (1nb, 1w)
Tapash Baisya 7 0 35 0 (1nb)
Alok Kapali 2.4 0 25 1 (1w)
Ehsanul Haque 5 0 27 0
Mohammad Rafique 4 0 11 0

I am copying this (the above bowling figures) in case all the bowlers are smacked all over the place in the last 20 overs.

Default Kapali

He took the 2 wickets but gave away 45 runs from only 6 overs.
Rafique looks the only class bowler. So is Masri (so far) and Manju as always.

Looks like we have a HUGE problem with our 5th bowler. Whoever you pick (unless we go in with four pacer and rafique and weaken - not really - our batting) from Sujon, Ashraful, Seezan, Kapali, you are bound to get whacked.

Default Bowling rotation.

Between the three pacers, we have 11 overs. This is the 41st over and Pilot sends in Kapali AGAIN to bowl.

Good thing, Kapali getting to bowl.
Bad - we all know if he bowls, he can't score runs.

Good - Masri getting some rest
Bad - AGAIN, front line bowlers will bowl less then qouta.

Good - make something up
Bad - Pilot is back to his old rotation. It's like the old noghtmares are back ... however, he might just be trying out his option in these PRACTICE matches.

Default Love to worry ?

West Indians 274/3 (42.3 ov)

3 fifties (Hinds 93, Sarwan 75*, Hooper 56*) so far, Chanderpaul, Powell, and Jacobs are yet to bat.
Have to see if their bowlers produce.

When they make it, they can thank us for helping in their big revival, *wink*

sanwar is the only player not getting match practise in sa - what do the experts say on that?

i thought mybe they sshould have saved a couple of rafiq overs but pilot loves to bowl the main spinners 10 in a row. good containment from him nonetheless.

ehsan probably bowled too many overs, that's why the front line pacers won't bowl their quota. am sure kapali will bowl all 10

Rafiq just completed his spell of 10 overs. Only gave away 23 runs. Excellent bowling. Didn't get a wicket though.

Default rafique

he did really well - only in the last over did he give up 6 runs. you can look at the tale of the two ends when you look at the overs graph - rafique containing from one end, runs being given away at the other.

am afraid that here comes the slog runs...

Default Northerns

They have made big changes. After beating Canada by 217 runs, they have fielded a second string side with 6/7 players missing from that match.

They now need 10 runs from 11 balls with 1 wicket in hand.

Default Kapali\'s tenth

Interesting.

Slogs are in.... they'll score a minimum of 6 per over ... that's a total of atleats - 245. With 7 wickets in hand, add another 30 or so.

If the trend continues, KZN will cream us around for the last five overs. We are looking at a score of about 260 to chase I would say.

well at least he got a third wicket. ashraful does this as well - gets hammered in the slog overs but manages to get a couple of wickets. don't know if that is good or bad
