Welcome Stuart Law!

Unlike coaches before you, (Whatmore, Siddons) you have one thing on your side... low expectations!! Your (lack of) experience as a coach give you that advantage. Use that for a good use and take our boys to the next level.

Cheers mate.

Are you serious? It's an advantage to have the national Head Coach as having no, or little coaching experience? Isn't it a disaster?

This is the national coach of a Test Team not a junior side. Massive experiment by the BCB this one and a huge gamble of resources. Would have been easier to wait for people to become available in my opinion and not be under pressure to appoint someone.

Should have left Grant Luden in charge as he is at the moment and waited for a key coach with experience in both leading as head coach and also a great batting coach.

We now have someone with no experience is either department to speak of. Such a huge huge gamble that we wanted to avoid after the WC.

And also be ready for a rush of Aussie coaches being brought in under him as he brings in colleagues and friends.

^^Actually, Maruf Bhai is right. When there is less experience, there is less pressure for you to ensure good performances. This means they can go about doing their Sh*t, and no one will complain. If it works, then good a gamble paid off. If it doesn't, then it's alright, it was a gamble by the BCB anyway.

You misread me. Advantage for him.. we are not expecting him to make us world beater like we did when Whatmore or Siddons got hired... I am talking about him. Of course I agree with you on BCB has screwed us over.. but thats not his fault you know.

Am I reading you correctly? Less pressure? And no one will complain??? In Bangladesh??????? It is the most pressurised job in world cricket and needs someone who knows what they are doing...

Within a few weeks the press, fans and everyone else will savage a coach who produces poor results. They won't say "oh well, he is learning" or "oh never mind, he has no experience"

There are just 9 Test Team head coaching jobs in the world. This is not an experiment. You'd better be good or you will be gone before the two years is up. BD cannot afford to slip backwards here. There is HUGE pressure on... It's exactly why coaches like Fountain and Pont were so good. They produced instant results in their own departments starting with the 4-0 Tiger wash.

If Law doesn't win the series in Zim comprehensively, or worse still LOSES it, the media will not be very kind.

Congrats to coach Stuart Law! Being a head coach coach of BD will have a lot of challenges up ahead and I'm confident coach Law can overcome them. Best of luck to him.

Sorry to butt in but most pressurized job in the world? Can't agree with that. I agree it isn't easy to be a BD coach and there is a lot of pressure but think about Australia and England. If they a couple of series, their lives become hell. Same for India. Reason is, they have a whole lot more expectations. So yes being a BD coach has pressure added to it but as much as other countries.

One thing people must understand that Bangladesh is the weakest of the test teams, and it is always hard to attract a successful head coach of a test team. For instance, John Wright, Buchanon, Micky Arthur would not be very keen to take up the position of Bangladeshi head coach.

It's like hiring a CEO, if you are not a very well renowned company, you will not get the top CEO for your firm.

No disrespect to Stuart Law, I think he can be a great coach in the future and will help bangladesh along the way.
