Self explanatory.

Of course capable! Bur will they? I don't think so. I, Rinat, and Ringo sat down last night reviewing the Afg match and upcoming Pak match. They think we will win, I just think the way we have conducted ourselves this tourney, we should not be winning against this Pak side who are much much further along than SL in establishing their core squad.

I really thought this was a troll thread opened by a Pakistani fan. Dude stop talking about cricket with those guys ur thinking will suffer .

Bangladesh is currently a better ODI team than Pakistan . Exclusion of tamim makes a bit hard as tamim is usually better than the whole Pakistani team batting combined ...

It will be an upset if pak wins ..

In Asia there are only two teams that should play final ..that's India and bd... and India is a better team on paper ..

Ridiculous thread

This Pakistan team is not the same Pakistan team Bangladesh defeated 3-0...These guys are a lot fitter, fielding has drastically improved. It's just that India is a far stronger and superior team than Pakistan 9 times out of 10.

Bangladesh has yet to face Shadab Khan, Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman...etc. Also, Shoaib Malik did not play in that series in which Bangladesh defeated them 3-0. Not taking away credit from Bangladesh, but that 3-0, it was basically Pakistan A, they were rebuilding and they included bunch of new faces...

It would be really foolish to think Bangladesh will win against Pakistan without any resistance. I expect Pakistan to come with full force and I welcome this. Good opportunity for Bangladesh to play some sensible cricket. Beating Pakistan is doable, but won't be easy. When Pakistan turns on, they are unstoppable. remember Champions Trophy 2017? World T20 2009? You may say Champions trophy final was "fluke", but remember they had to defeat a red hot England in Semis to get there...

Don't disagree. It will be an evenly matched game given we are essentially playing our A team this time. But the thread question is silly. Bangladesh in ODI currently can beat any team. People need to accept that no matter how hard it is to accept.

I remember the game against SL, BD had couple of wickets fall , all of a sudden the sub continent herd starts commenting BD hasn't learned anything in 20 years blah blah blah and then they are given a massive thrashing in the same game that BD were being criticized. So Comical.

To me Bangladesh is still favorite. Pak is a mentally fragile team. I had a dog like that once - always barks - i had to put it down.

I think since we are a forum with overwhelming Bangladesh bias it would be undoubtedly yes.

But the great litmus test, imo, would be had the thread addressed India. They look frikkin unbeatable. But then again we are The Joker. Their hidden villain.

I absolutely find no reason why this Bangladesh team is not capable of beating this Pakistan team. For me, Afganistan was a better team than Pakistan.

not if we play the way we have been. Also, need some runs from the openers and shakib's bat. Then again, pakistan has been playing some crap cricket aswell. India's cup again folks.

Going by recent records in the tournament, both teams got thrashed by India , both got close wins vs Afghanistan.
This is like the match of the tournament.

You are talking like those Pakistani fans who are desperate to prove that the last series win by BD doesn't count, it was still the Pakistan national team and the best they had available at the time. They conveniently forget we also knocked them out of the last Asia cup in 2016.

Pakistan team has been minnow bashing for the past one year, otherwise they went to NZ and lost 5-0 , got thrashed by Kohli less India in this tournament twice and barely went past Afghanistan. As for the CT win even West Indies has a Champions Trophy win as well as two World T20 wins. It does not make them the best side in the world . Yes the team is better than before but we have every chance of beating them as well, no team is impossible to beat. And this Pakistan turning up thing is nonsense , they played well and the opposing team didn't. This is not DBZ that Pakistan suddenly turns into Super Saiyan and nobody can stop them. I am sure they go into every match with the intent of winning.

Shoaib Malik is gonna be the difference. Old horses always come to rescue against bangladesh. This team is defintely stronger than 2015 team and we are weaker than 2015 team. Hopefully, we use our momentum and match winning innings from either shakib, mushy, riad or imrul is needed.

pak's 1-3 is really weak. Inzi's nephew is a joke. Babar hasn't been tested till now. Fakhar just looks like pressure got to him. If we get Malik out for cheap, game should be easy. Shoiab is the key, he's playing really well.

But then again, our 1-3 isn't much better either. It's going to be the battle of the middle orders.

Correct observation

This Pak team is going through some teething problems. In terms of potential, yes, their current youngsters are vastly talented and dare I say, more talented than our newcomers.

The problem for PAK is two: (1) these young players do not have the experience of playing in multi-nation tournaments, as pointed out by an article in dawn, and also they do not have the experience of playing in front of big crowds, and thus they are not handling the pressure properly (2) wrong captain - Sarafraj is an uninspiring Captain. Malik should be the captain. Even Azhar Ali was a better choice, but no idea what happened to him.

For BD to beat PAK team, it will be tough, because PAK always comes hard on us, but it is doable. We have to do everything right, primarily:

1. Bat first and score 280. No hara-kiri or self-destruction. 250 will not be enough against them

2. When bowling, we must be tight. Cannot afford one boundary every over, especially by the pacers

3. Team selection must be right

4. Players must believe that they can beat PAK and body language must be confident

5. Must be ready mentally to chase, in case we lose toss

6. Must field hard with heart. Cannot afford misfield or catch miss.

So this is the convo I was referring to earlier in the thread. Our latest pod. We are split 2-1 in favor of Bd. It was a pleasure chatting to Ringo. Him and Rinat went for Bd. My heart says Bd of course, but my head says Pak. But I am wrong many times, and I wish to be wrong on the 26th.

No we cannot.

We were lucky to beat Afghanistan, got thrashed by India and we will struggle to play Shadab Khan.

No Tamim and the top order is a joke.

Shakib is a walking wicket.

Hope BCB books the flights for the 27th, as advance booking may help get tickets on the cheap to recover the costs of Soumya's business class ticket to the UAE.

I agree that Shakib needs to do better, I get he's not fit, but he should still be chipping in with 20/30

Poorly-worded question. Of course we're capable.

Whether we do is the question.

Ofcause, more than capable of beating Pakistan. Bangladesh current team has more experience than Pakistan current team. Bangladesh batting need to he sorted out at the top and batting need to click as a unit not one or two. So change the top, add Sarkar or Kayes with Liton Das. If Mushy can take the #3 role it balances so many things out but he atm prefers his comfortable position #4, so I’d stick with Mithun as he does have a 50 so far and made better IMPACT than Shanto. Liton Das good 40 last match and I believe he is going to do something special soon, he needs to be patient and stay at the wicket for longer.
