Your XI for India test
We should go with 3 seamers again India Test. 3 spinners won't do any good for us on the road of Fatullah.
My XI:
1) Tamim
2) Kayes
3) Mominul
4) Mushy (NOT KEEPING)
5) Shakib
6) Nasir (No piont picking SS based on his ODI performance, let him score big in FC pls)
7) Liton/Bijoy (WK: Tough choice TBH. They won't do any worse than Mushy with the gloves. Liton scored 1000+ FC runs. Bijoy just came back from injury and showing some form already; 91,111 and 83)
8) Sahid
9) Mustafizur
10) Taijul
11) Taskin/Al Amin
Riyad hasn't been great in Test for a while in test. His last century came 5+years ago. Not good enough for a #4 in test cricket so Nasir replaces him. mushy should bat at 4.
Please drop Rubel, SS, Hom and SRK for good.

1. TI
2. Kayes
3. Liton/Riyad - ideally Liton, but lets face it Riyad will be in the team
4. Mominul
5. Rahim
6. Shakib
7. Nasir/Liton -if Liton was picked already
8. Taijul
9. Taskin
10. Mustafizur
11. Shahid
India play spinners well, no point in picking extra spinner

You can drop Riyad for Liton/Anamul, not Nasir .... Nasir doesn't compensate for Riyad's batting...
I guess Bijoy and Litton both should be in

Playing XI
1) Tamim Iqbal
2) Imrul Kayes
3) Mominul Hoque
4) Mushfiqur Rahim
5) Shakib Al Hasan
6) Nasir Hussan
7) Liton Kumar Das (wk)
8) Mohammad Shahid
9) Mustafizur Rahman
10) Taijul Islam
11) Al Amin Hussain / Jubair Hussain
Bench
12) Anamul Haque
13) Rony Talukdar
14) Jubair Hussain
15) Naeem Islam
I share the idea with OP that
1) Indian players play spin well, hence 3-man pace attack is worth giving a try, though our pace bowling attack is nothing to write home about.
2) Soumya Sarker is not a test player type based on his FC stats. Suvagata home is a below par bits n' pieces player based on what I have seen of him and Shahadat is probably gone forever after 6 months long lay off due to injury.
3) Shane Warne did not make much impression against Indians, hence Jubair might not be that much effective against Indians.

The best team you have chosen, I'm with your team. One thing if our batsman doesn't understand meaning of test bating then we should come out from the names only and look for the domestic one or two batsman who can really bat for long time, no matter what luppa bowling offered to him. Sadly seen same old mistakes made by our batsman 2nd test not only once but consecutive two innings which has been our big issues for lo G long time. If we our players cannot overcome this tendency these players don't deserve to play test.

The OPs in every one of these threads should come with the reminders that a player can't be dropped from a position or from the XI after just one series and that Taskin and Mustafizur aren't physically ready for Test yet.

This.
Robiul or Shafiul as backup FB if either of them are fit. Could play a third seamer too instead of Jubair.
Maybe Soumya instead of Litton. Litton is obviously a much better option, but they made a big mistake in introducing Soumya instead of Litton in Test. And now that they've picked Soumya, they probably should stick with him for at least two more Test series. Litton should be next in line for the next batsman who gets chopped. But either way, I don't mind. I'm really looking forward to seeing Litton play too.
They really mishandled Soumya. First played him at #3 in ODIs, then #2, and then T20. It was fine until sticking him in at #7 in Test when there were better options and when his FC record is in mid-20s. He'll get dropped from Test eventually. I hope so many changes so soon won't affect him negatively.
And Mushy should the WK. Litton doesn't keep in FC.

I guess SS will make it to the playing 11 because of his medium pace.
We can't play with 2 pacers without a third back up even in pitches where pacers don't get any assistance.
Spinners: Shak, Taijul/Gazi, Jubair
Pacer: Shahid, Rubel/Mustafiz, SS
Batsman: Tamim, Imrul, Mominul, Riyad & Mushi
I don't see how Liton, Anamul or Nasir comes in.
You need bowlers to take wickets and keep the score lower .. Then we have 7 batsman including Shak & SS that should be enough

People need to remember Taskin and Mustafiz are far too young to play tests.
1) Tamim
2) Imrul
3) Mominul
4) Anamul/Liton/Nasir - No Mahmadullah..But he'll be in the team
5) Shakib
6) Mushfiq (WK - Poor series all round, but his WK was poor due to injury, normally he's much improved)
7) Sarkar - Can Bowl, needs to be in the team as a 3rd Seamer
8) Gazi - Perfect number 8, can bowl well, and decent with the bat
9) Shahid
10) Tajiul
11) Al Amin or ZIaur

Like this team, but is Al Amin even a possibility after his brush with the management?

Major Flaw in this team - Mustafizur and Taskin far too young, so shouldn't be bowled more than 12 overs an innings, so thats about 25 there and Shahid can give 20 good ones, so thats only 45 overs of fast bowling - and we have a weaker batting line up, Shahid is not a number 8, at best a number 9.
Knowing mushy Taskin and Mustafiz will bowl 20 overs, and he'll ruin their careers...People need to realise we cant rush young players, we've made this mistake far too many times in the past

^^ Mustafizur Rahman is bowling 20 odd overs per innings in NCL. Mohammed Amir of Pakistan was younger than Mustafizur Rahman when he started his test career. If we get 45 overs of pace bowling then the rest of 45 overs can be taken care of by our spinners. Taijul alone can bowl 25 overs a day. And if you add Sakib and Nasir/Mahmudullah then you get 45 overs of spin bowling a day.
Taskin has niggles, hence he would not be able to bowl in test matches.

There's a difference bowling in tests compared to NCL, he'll need to put it way more effort into test Matches, on top of that, he shouldn't be bowling that much in NCL, thats how we ruin good young pacers, they do the same in India.
Amir was a potential ATG hence he was doing so well, but got lucky that he got banned, cause 9/10 playing Test cricket that young at that age damages a player, Amir at 18 had Back Problems.
Mustafiz will do well in test and maybe better than our current players, but thats not the issue, issue is that he will get overworked and body will break down, where do you get the 45 overs from pace and spin each...knowing our bowling line up we'll need to bpwl like 140 overs minimum, when that happens Mustafiz will end up bowling 20+ overs an innings

Thanks tiger1000, for trying to put some sense in this whole argument surrounding Mustafiz.

Taskin and mustafiz won't be selected for Test for "not ready" reason so no point of include em.

Taskin hasn't played FC cricket since 2013 and he had an injury recently so I think it'd be unwise to play him even though I'd like him to be there as the enforcer with his pace and height. Instead I'd go for Al-Amin for the third pacer if the pitch suits it. Mustafizur and Shohid should be a treat to watch with the new ball.

Lol at Soumya can bat and ball some fans are as daft as the selectors! ODI and TEST different pals.
Soumya is a no no at test cricket ATM. Shabbir has better style of batting and technic needed to do well at test IMO but still not yet another 1 or so. These are our ODI future an need to keep them at ODI's for now.
This is my 14-men squad for India test.
Tamim
Kayes
Liton
Mominul
Shakib
Mushfiq
Mahmudullah
Abul
Taijul

Anamul, liton, mosaddek have made very good cases with the bat. Gazi has been scoring runs too and has that test century so could snag hom's spot possibly.
Mustafizur continuing to do well with the ball so in contention, wouldn't mind seeing subashis get a chance. Nurul should be in contention for his glove work and talent with the bat (decent record to).
