Default BCCI: It doesn't Concern us

Quote:
MUMBAI: Even as ICL was announcing its grand coup of signing 14 international Bangladesh players, most coming for a whopping price tag of $200,000, the Indian cricket board chose to cast a Nelson's eye on the development.

"It doesn't concern the BCCI," said a senior official late on Tuesday night.
Quite interestingly, at the same time, the Indian Premier League's (IPL) top officials were engaged in a marathon meeting in Mumbai. That meeting, however, had nothing to do with its rival's ambitious move.

The IPL thinktank, though, would have surely spent at least some time discussing the Bangla crisis.
Rajiv Shukla, vice-president of BCCI and a member of the IPL board played down the exodus into the ICL fold. "It's an internal matter of Bangladesh cricket board and doesn't concern the BCCI. It is for them to study the situation and to act accordingly," he said.

BCCI CAO Ratnakar Shetty too refused to comment on the matter, saying, "It has got nothing to do with BCCI."

BCCI is full of politicians. Politicians are not hot headed generals. They take every step with calculated risk. The answer to the media was best possible answer. No controversies follow after that. No more questions to answer to the Media. They will crush ICL in due time. Sobor.

Our big mouth players has yet to learn the art of saying "no comments".

True. It really doesn't concern them. Unless BCB moves officially them, they are not supposed to do anything.

Obviously. all these started from BCCI pressuring not to include ICL players in any ICC events. You know if you bend too much it will snap.

They pushed ball to bangladesh's court. and probably threatenning in the back ground. I say it might be blessing in disguise. I still dont want BCB to ban them at all, rather allow them to play other times, when they are not busy with ICL.

BCCi is right. It is an internal matter between BCB and its cricketers.

Guys trust me, BCB and its players is only to gain from this.BCCI will no longer ignore BD's cricketers, you will see Tamim and Ash with 200k+ offers in the next IPL.

ICL wanted to take a cut out of the lucrative Indian market, it is but natural for ICC and BCCI to oppose them.Mind you ICL has no obligation towards any forms of cricket, they are pure bussinessmen!!

Also BD did not loose a lot ..SN and Alok were not great anyways and would struggle to hold their place. You dont need players like Aftab, infact BD should do away with sloggers and horne pure cricketers atleast for the time being.

My biggest dissapointment was Dhiman, I watched both the SL-BD series and the recent Aus-Bd series.Mushifiq was a pure disastor in the SL series, he would put our Parthiv to shame interms of keeping.Dhiman is/was pure class in terms of keeping and I'd though he would have easily become the best keeper in Asia.He was in the team and his place looked assured, not sure why he left ? This is were BCB lost the plot..a few encouraging words from BCB and the captain would have made a difference. After all they are in their early 20's ..cant remember how many mistakes I did when I was their age !!!!

A non-performing captain cannot encourage any one; not even himself. He always see imaginary ghosts behind him. Ash lost the track completely this way. Good analysis bharat.

Good analysis. I'm already out there bashing Ash, didn't want to start with Aftab. Thanks for mentioning his name. I'll miss him in our 20/20 national team. He hasn't done much (consistently) in ODIs to be the 'loss' that some say he is. We will defintely miss his occasional 40+ and the rapidfire 20-30s.

Good post Bharat. Reflects many of our emotions.

I was also wondering the same about Dhiman. I think he's been brainwashed. Otherwise, just for being dropped ONCE he gave up playing for BD? That's just plain BS.

When did he got dropped recently? He played the whole series in Aus.

He is getting very small amount. I really don't see any justification of his joining the ICL unless there is some wrong information given and severe brainwash done to him.

I thought Mushifiq would go !! .But I guess this separates the kids from men !! If you doubt your ability then I guess ICL is a good option.National cricket is still for men and not for boys !!!

One more positive I see, is BCB (like BCCI) becomes more accountable, every action of theirs will be under the micrscope. Can you imagine BCCI sacking the 'Grand Old Men' of Indian cricket if not for the critisim !! No more regionalism and groupism ..8 years in the US has taught be me that nothing works like Capitalism ( was a hard core socialist when in India ) .You Fail there is another one to replace u ..be the board or the players.

I have not seen banglacricket.com users so dissapointed in my 3 + years of stay in here. But I think it is for the best ..a kick in the butt always helps, like the kick we got in the WC.Within 2 years we look a different team.Trust me this is for the best.

Exacttly !

Lalit Modi Promised Lipu that at least three Bangladeshi players would be signed in the Next IPL. Kid Aftab Ahmed IMO could have easily been one of those three players.

BCCI Says: Well-being of cricket? It doesn't concern us. It's all about the money that we care for.

On a serious note, it is none of their concern anyways, they did the initial damage a year and half ago almost when they dubbed the ICL illegal anyways.

Our mess now, sure partial blame to the BCCI and the ICC, but a good clean-up act needs to follow ASAP!

Tie down the players with what they deserve. "Dog-poop-rejects" can do whatever the heck they want !
