Here's a look at them:

Rose Bowl is so beautiful. Less said about trent bridge, the better

Nice thread. I wonder how much our tacticians study these to makes sure we target the shortest distance of the ground.

Rosebowl is the largest ground among these. Bangladesh will play against Afghanistan in this ground. It will be difficult to hit big shots against the three Afghan spinners here.

Good thread. Those are some peculiar shaped grounds.

Sophia Gardens has a 60 metre straight boundary. I wonder if we changed our strategy to target that shorter boundary.

Peculiar shapes indeed. But alao these grounds have peculoar altitudes. There are slopes. Lords have a altitute variaton more than 6 feet. If some one can create diagrams of these altitude variation.... That will be interesting.

Rose Bowl is like perfect circle...I think that's why they name it as rose bowl

At rose bowl, you get lateral movement, seam and a lot of spin.
It is a heaven for "bowlers" thatswhy it is called "Bowl".
Earlier all formats were played with the conventional red ball which has a color similiar to the most wonderful and superfantabulous flower "Rose"
Hence proved.

Why don't these grounds with poor drainage get demerit points?

I know of only test match wickets getting demerit points.

I haven't heard of it extended to the limited overs game.

Taunton is literally the worst possible ground we can play West Indies in. Massive disadvantage for us. Our spinners are nullified even before the match. Every single mis-hit will go for six.

Tomorrow's match is in the home of Lancashire. Seems like a Mirpur wicket.

Quote:
Old Trafford has hosted Tests since 1884 and remains a special venue with a rich history. It guaranteed itself a place in cricket's eternal hall of fame when the permanently understated Jim Laker destroyed Australia, in 1956, on an old-fashioned "sticky wicket", with match figures of 19 for 90. Australia were the victims again in 1981 when Ian Botham lit up a damp Manchester day by hooking Dennis Lillee off his eyebrows into the stands, and in 1995 Dominic Cork ensured anyone having a Sunday morning snooze was rudely woken with one of most dramatic opening overs ever seen, as he took his hat-trick against West Indies. During the 1990s, Old Trafford became Lancashire's fortress of one-day cricket - few teams managed to break down the defences of the Red Rose one-day side. In 1999, over 22,000 watched Pakistan against India in the World Cup and the ground regularly sells out for international cricket.
