Default Ashraful's inclusion in final 11

He did well in domestic recently. But international cricket is different. Ashraful could not do well here for a long time. Should Ashraful be given a chance to final 11 in the WC against India? Should we take the risk?

its a gamble that i think we should take if we r picking ZN and ROck.. but if SN is playing in number 3 and mush in 4 then no need to pick him for that game.

You spelt failure wrong, I can tell it's a typo .
I think Ashraful has to play in the practice matches, as they do not affect anything except match practice time. He get's a fifty, and a high 30, low 40, he should play, anything less... Send him home! (oh wait, he is home, forgot we were hosting it this time)...

playing him in the practice match is a good idea but they actually reduces the chance of him playing a big game in the actual game. cause he will make one big score and if does that in the practice match then he is as good as the dead wood in my mind for the rest of the tournament... lol

Definitely don't want to see him at #4 again causing a collapse (like he did in the ODI against Zimbabwe). He may be an option to consider at #7, but then again he is not really a power hitter as the slot may require. He depends a lot on timing of his shots and he gets it right only once in a blue moon. As off now, Mahmudullah looks like a better option.

So, at this point, no to Ashraful.

I dont mind him being at 6 or 7, for the third powerplay, otherwise his spot would be wasted resources.

How is that? He does not even have a single ODI fifty against India (statsguru).

If he is selected, wish he plays well. Good luck to him.

forget how much he scores....his inclusion in the 11 should be based on these factors:
1. How is he choosing to play while on crease?
2. How did he get out?
3. Was he responsible for any other batsmen while in the crease with him to get out?
4. Did he left the team in a vulnerable position with his same mistakes?

And all these should be taken under consideration even if he scores over his average...

With the current setup including Ash in the team is wasting a place.

All I can say, "You fool me once, shame on you, you fool me twice, shame on me!"

He has been given enough chance and we all know how he did with those chances. The sample size is large to draw valid statistical conclusions.

he will be included, no one can stop this. Don't forget Ashraful is a "brand" for team Bangladesh, just like Yuvi is a brand for India.

I'm not sure whether to include him against the other sides, but against India we need to gamble by taking him in the 11 because it's obvious that if we have to beat them, we need to post a big total. So, taking ASH would actually mean that either he's gonna thrash the Indian bowlers around the park, or he'll just go back to the dressing room quickly enough. ROK's and Riad's ''hati-hati-pa-pa'' batting would only take us to a respectable score, and thus to a respectable defeat at most. 230 odd scores are only good enough against NZ and Zimbabwe, it's not gonna work against the Indians by any means!

Cannot agree more. I have a feeling Ash gonna make a big score vs India and will secure his place in the team for next few years.
