yes indeed his out was controversial. BD TV umpire Ashgar took several minutes to give him stumped out. Howeever, it was a typical stumping (nothing to do with the runner).

On a related note, AAK was fluent and possibly flawless in that innings. Gavaskar was suggesting- AAK was reminding him of his coach Gordon(the then BD coach), who used to score a century whenever Gordon had to use a runner.

AAK proved his passion for BD. Very good interview Mufi. Enjoyed it. I always liked Athar's commentary, he has a good understanding of the game and our domestic setup as well.

Thanks all. He is indeed extremely passionate about our game. He was very eager to connect with the fans and I hope he will come to BC sometimes.

We have to note that he has to face lots of criticisms in the commentary box. It's not easy commentating for a whole day in test cricket where we get no wickets or gets bundled out very easily. But he grinds it out and tries to cherish whatever small victories we get. Sometimes as fans, we can turn off TV/computer when we play atrocious cricket (which is most of the times) and even think of taking a break from cricket. But individuals like Athar Ali Khan has to go through the 'torture' almost every day we play but never backs down. So we should applaud him for that.

*His answers were not modified/altered at all. So what you see in interview are exactly his own words. So that shows he is very coherent and articulate in English.

Thanks, maybe after the WC Mizan bhai. He thinks Badshah was a better bowler than GN Prince. By the way, Umpire Nadir Shah and Badshah are brothers/cousins right?

Correct. Elder Brother of Nadir Shah.

That is his opinion. Bura manush Cricket'er badshah na, Ujir. lol.

Price was the real Badshah of cricket. Just like "Shahensha" - Hindi movie. Prince was Rasel with speed. "Early Vaas" in that generation. Unfortunately injury took the speed out of him.

I still remember the first Asia cup and Prince with his left arm swing keeping things really tight on one end.

This was the match: http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/65677.html

Typical of our semi-pro days, he ran out of steam after the mid-point and got tonked in his last 2-3 overs bi Ijaz
