there are many better coed schools in dhaka - scholastica, sunbeams, green herald.

among non-coeds: vikarunnesa, st.joseph's, etc

Nope, they were not. 1st of all, the education standard of the CO-Ed's were below the mark.

Its for Rich kids to have fun type. Shaheen was not like that. Shaheen not only taught education, it also taught discipline and punctuality in every aspect of life. Also, really, you get to learn some manners there. You also learn to treat women with respect. Parents can relax thinking there kids are on safe hands. It was also a safe campus, dont forget..... its an Airforce school.

I can name some schools much better than BAF Shaheen School. For example:

* Bera Bepin Behari Pilot High School - Bera, Pabna

* Bholanath Biswaswar Hindu Academy - Rajshahi, Rajshahi

* Chandra Imam Ali High School - Faridganj, Chandpur

* Kalauzan Gour Sundar High School - Kalauzan, Lohagara, Chittagong

i guess dj will send his kids to the first one.

anyways, i've gone to a coed english school too, and i can't agree with you dawah. not all english schools are alike, and the best ones are among the best in the country. the education is not only restricted to text book material, but wanders far beyond that. discipline is enforced, and a strong feeling of nationality induced into the young minds.

i've studied with a couple of shaheen guys while preparing for my A-levels. i didn't find them any different from us.

i wouldn't compare those schools with the ones in canada/us though. education here is far more superior than in bd.

Well said, but I did not talk about cadet colleges, I said school and mainly Co-ed :P

Anyways, Shaheen was very close to a cadet colleges in terms of its rules. I had my hiar cut once in the middle since the teacher thought my hair was like bollywood starts

dawah, your title doesn't say coed schools.

btw, how does being coed have to do anything with the education standards of a school?

Bangladesh lacks a decent education or schooling system. English medium schools are worse than bengali mediums.
