Shakib not getting complacent
Sports Reporter
Stand-in skipper Shakib Al Hasan was on the lookout against complacency despite the Tigers tightening their grips on Zimbabwe by winning the first two games of the five-match series quite convincingly.
“I believe we have been successful so far because we could keep our concentration going for the entire match. Also, we never allowed pressure to get to us. The boys are playing according to the game plan and I attribute the results to team effort," Shakib, who led from the front with a blazing hundred to script a 49-run victory in the second match, was quoted as saying in TigerCricket.com.
" The series is still open and that's why we just need to keep our focus and do our job in the middle,” he said.
Bangladesh have now won seven ODIs on the trot with Shakib himself is on a five-match unbeaten streak as captain. They will play their third one-dayer at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo tomorrow.
The 22-year old left-hander Shakib hit a dazzling 64-ball 104, the fastest century by a Bangladeshi and the ninth quickest in ODI history, and took two wickets to star in Bangladesh's victory in the second match after former skipper Mohammed Ashraful guided the team to an eight-wicket victory in the first match with a hundred.
The world's number one all-rounder in the one-day rankings was determined to maintain the momentum and regarding his own eye-catching form the 22-year-old felt that attitude was key.
“I have seen that you have more chances of succeeding if you go into a game in a positive frame of mind. I have tried to be positive and it has worked for me so far,” said Shakib.
The Bangladesh players, fresh from their 49-run win in the second ODI, had a much needed day's rest yesterday in Bulawayo in their hectic schedule. With a two-day gap before the third match the cricketers took this opportunity to get over their tiredness.
“There was swimming, recovery and massage today. The boys stayed at the hotel and rested. They have been playing non-stop so this was a welcome break. Some of the boys have slight niggles and they had treatment,” informed team operations manager Shafiqul Haque Hira.

I understood what he said but not feeling like to write it down.
it's really bad from Sakib specially being a captain.
he is not ice man for sure when it comes to fielding mistakes.

Wow. I didn't expect that from Shakib. IT was a realy really bad word came out of his mouth
I said in another thread that captain should curse the hell out of the fielders or bowlers if they don't use their head right. But didn't expect this at all!!! I hope he apologized after the game.

Guys, leave it. It was just a 'heat of desperate crucial moment' in a MUST win game.

Very disappointing indeed, I actually heard that during the match but couldn't make out who exactly was cursing loudly. Shakib is 22 years old and shouldn't uses these type of language to his (older) teammates even during 'heat of desperate crucial moment'.

As long he is not a repeated offender, we should let this one go. After all, the guy is playing through some serious pain. Also, he knows very well what kind of criticism the team will face if they somehow end up losing this series.

What Shakid said to the player?
Just my experience says, during the match, players always use those words among themselves to keep the intensity of the performance. Different captain has different approach to keep his boys up. Some always praise to get the best, some try to bully them to get the best. Its actually a strategy to get the best from his player.
I can remember, when i was in school, some teachers beat us when we failed and some teachers just say us to study hard.
But i agree, Shakib needs to be careful not to create over-pressure to his teammates and also to the media. Listening these words in TV is not a pleasent thing.

Well he has improved a lot especially bowling. Said he wants to be ranked #1 in all the list lol. Am pretty sure he will knock of Kula for #1 ODI bowler. Batting wise it will a very steep road even getting into top 10 list.

Let's not make a big deal out of it. I'm sure he apologized to Rakib after. but I do kinda feel like Shakib is a bit too cocky at times.
