Yeah Mushfiq and Tamims record were also much better than some of the young players of today in terms of ave and strike rate.
But as present structure of BD cricket is better than 2006/7 I hope these Mirazs or Nazmuls will have better international career.
But again saying they are too young so too early to judge.

U play a zillion games you will eventually get there, no? Check out the link Navo provided. Compare the last column. You will see class.
Is Shanto the best batsman in the world ever at this level?

Buddy, my post was sarcasm....
But the environment in which the under-19 guys play at the moment...the morale is very close to that of the senior team..maybe surpassing them.

he is a good player for his age. but comparing to shakib is ludicrous. we would be lucky if we can produce another shakib in the next 20-30 years.
u-19 wc is held every two years and so there are a lot of players that goes through the system. honestly, this batch of mehedy, shanto, pinak should not get into national team for the next few years. they should play in domestics and A team. we need to focus on previous batch like anamul, litton, mominul, nurul etc.. We should be happy if we get 1 player from every batch.

There are two thoughts ... one is making him the next Sakib ... the other kind of trashing even before he hit his 20th birthday.
The reality is in between. Yes he have achieved enough in his early age to start tracking his career and hoping that some day he will bring value to the national team. And yes is insane to start comparing him with players like Sakib already.
He has is the current u19 record holder for taking most wickets... that doesn't make him the next Sakib. But there is nothing wrong to praise about that. It is self is a great accomplishment in u19 age group. No point to ridicule that.
What he need is encouragement from us and set an realistic expectation. At this age sky is the limit for him (and other talented players of his age) ... its too early to declare him an instant success or failure in national team at this point. lets support him and hope for the best.

The more I'm watching him play, more I'm impressed ... He looks like a real deal ... Batting, Bowling, Fielding, Leadership - he is an asset. Go Miraz!

No wonder he is termed as the next Mashrafe, he is such a braveheart. Got hit for sixes and fours, blasted all around and still kept a cool head to continue himself and take wickets. He didn't bow down to pressure, infact he opened the bowling to absorb the pressure. I didn't see his batting today but he topscored too... Give this guy another 3/4 years and he can be do a Virat Kohli for us and be a legend of the game!

If Miraz is also a defensive captain like Mushy and Shakib, there must be a problem in the system. It's no coincidence that our best captain Mashrafe was not a part of under 19 or BKSP.

bringing fielder closer for a new batsman (esp a lower order bat) and trying to prevent a set batsman from taking single in the last bowl of the over, these thing are basic stuff. Don't know what they are taught.

Has nerves and balls of steel, as a batsman and bowler. But his captaincy is rubbish, batsmen milking singles and bowlers begging for the fielders to come closer, but still no fielding change. Then he forgets about our only express pacer and decides to bring in a part timer at the 45th over

Most people forget basic things when they are under pressure. Very few exceptional captain are different.

i don't think he forgot. Either you have THAT instinct in you or not. As someone have mentioned already at one point even bowlers were asking fielders to come closer. And i remember once zakir was also telling him to change field placing.

I think he is a good captain but probably the team's strategy was poor to begin with. I know i said this a million times but at this level, U-19 its the coach who has the main say in how the team should play.
Now we all know Mashrafe is one player who can read the situation and aks the batsman to play with freedom, Miraz can't because even if he is a senior player, he is 18 and he is the puppet of the coaching staff

Another very impressive knock from the captain. Always delivers this guy. There is indeed something of Shakib in this boy, maybe even better interpersonal and leadership skills than the big Hasan

Bright future
He seems to lose his composure after reaching his 50 at times, throws his wicket away after a brilliant looking innings up til that point.
