For the first time in the history of the CPL, Guyana's team looks to have a higher percentage of Guyanese in it than any other year:

Devendra Bishoo
Shimron Hetmyer
Keemo Paul
Veerasammy Permaul
Akshaya Persaud
Romario Shepherd
Sherfane Rutherford
Gajanand Singh (No relation to me; actually played against him in my Under-19 days)

Thanks for the reminder, yeah I think I read about it earlier.

Smith will be playing in place of him. What a loss for Tridents!

Bishoo and Permaul were my teammates from the local club. Gajanand played for the rival Young Warriors team in Canje (about 10 miles away). Hetmyer is also from Young Warriors club.

I'm excited to see Sherfane Rutherford play, he made 134 against the Vancouver Knights last month, playing for Windies B TEAM.

Got some really good players in this edition. Only Mahmudullah from Bangladesh this time unfortunately. Perhaps Tamim could have gotten a team.

I heard on BD Sports news that Tamim and Mahmudullah stayed back to play CPL. They did not specify which team. Does anyone know? Or is it wrong info on their part?

Shakib is going through a finger surgery before the Asia Cup. https://www.thedailystar.net/news/sp...ia-cup-1618144

Guyana Amazon Warriors avenged a Lauderhill sweep at the hands of St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in 2017 courtesy an action-packed unbeaten half-century from local hero Shimron Hetmyer on Friday.
http://www.espncricinfo.com/series/1...er-league-2018

The local boys did well... Shimron with that unbeaten 79. Keemo with figures of 4-0-16-2. Sherfane Rutherford with a spectacular catch..

Sandeep Lamichanne was superb with the ball for St Kitts: 4-0-12-2

Providence wicket is an Asian spinner's paradise

Qais Ahmad is in the stars squad for this edition, another young afghani spinner on the rise.

This Ali Khan bowling with some venom...ripping through Tallawahs' top order with 3 wickets; Shannon just struck.

16 for 4

Freaking Dre Russ!

121* off 49 balls with 13 sixes wins it for his Tallawahs team. A win that was not on the cards after they were reduced to 15 for 3 chasing 224

He now becomes the 2nd player in T20 cricket to have taken a hattrick and scored a century in a match. The only other person to have done that is Joe Denly (did it a day ago).
