Congrats Naeem for a Kallis-esque innings.
Well played for your 100 in 289 balls !!

He just ensured his place in the national team.
Tamim misses out on double.
Shahadat picks 3 !! Good going there.

even with this ton i don't see naeem being assured a spot in the palying XI, maybe in the squad but unless he's going to open or bat at #3 then he has nasir, riyad, shakib, and mushy to contend with for a spot from 4-7, 4 spots are there with 5 players contending (that's assuming mominul is given the #3 spot and not contending for a spot from 4-7). shakib is a definite, mushy is a certainty so naeem will be fighting with nasir and riyad for a spot, possibly even mominul. nazimuddin could even be consisdered for a middle order spot if he isn't opening or batting at #3. tough goings for middle order bats atm.

S. Nafees and Iftekhar Nayeem now batting for Barisal. I wonder how it would like batting in the middle with your own brother. If Nafees makes a big score this innings then him might propel himself into the national team since the opening slot is vacant.

Tamim struggled a lot in the morning yesterday against Taskin. His SR was 30 something before going after the spinners in the afternoon.
I guess Tasking's pace was too good for him

i guess it's good that taskin was able to trouble tamim since he is a world class batsman.

If Mominul makes the cut and bats at 3, I wonder if the management will think about him and Tamim. That shall be interesting, if it so happens. Scoring a 100 and the management having faith on him to open is just a confidence booster and may well be worth it. Else, if he isn't considered for the opening slot, then either of Riyad or Nasir has to sit out. And I would drop Nasir considering, Riyad is a better bowler than Nasir.
If Mominul isn't selected for the playing XI, easy! Naeem at 3!

only thing is he doesn't really open but he has the grit and determination, that also means no anamul. as far as nasir and riyad i'd keep nasir for his temperament and reliability.

Who says Naeem can't speed things up when needed ??
Right after the fall of 9th wicket, this is how he reacts:
4 . 2 . 4 4

The Chittagong Division team are riding on their top four batsmen: Tamim, N. Iqbal, Nazimuddin and Mominul.
