Soumya Sarkar v Liton Das
After this series looks like Sabbir, Mithun and Saifuddin are all confirmed for world cup XI. Miraz as well depending on conditions. That leaves one of Soumya or Liton to be replaced when Shakib comes back. Liton has the Asia cup behind him, Soumya has the last series Vs WI/Zim backing him although weaker opposition at home, so who should be getting the chop?

Soumya overall has the better odi record plus he can bowl, liton has the more recent century against better opposition and keeps.
Soumya might pip liton in this case due to his overall better odi batting and ability to chip in with some overs.
I think it might depend a bit on how important they consider liton’s keeping, if Mithun is in the squad then you’ve already got 2 keepers and that’s why I think it might be soumya over liton if it comes down to soumya VS liton.

I agree with that analysis. Mithun being a keeper batsman himself, diminishes the importance of Liton as a backup keeper. although Liton is a better keeper. We just can't afford to have two inconsistent batsmen in the top order in Soumya and Liton.

I think neither will get the chop not that I am hopeful both will click against class bowling attacks. The way BCB ”think” tank works Saifuddin will get chop

It might be a good idea for him to shift to batting coach from bowling coach

It will be best for Bangladesh if he shifts away all together...

Agree. Our top three should be Tamim Imrul Soumya.

I don't say it often but BAN think tank sux. Imrul should have been in this NZ series in order to pick the top order for the WC.
Liton scored only #1 100 and #1 50 in his 27 ODI innings averaging below 20 now (S/R: 79.8). He has 16 single-digit figures among those 27 innings (mostly at home as well).
Soumya has #2 100's and #7 50's in his 40 innings averaging just below 35 (S/R: 98.6) with only 12 single-digit scores. Unfortunately, most of these took place in last 2 years.
Both are delight to watch when they are on song, in fact, they perhaps are the best timer of the ball among BAN batsmen. But surely, Liton can't be picked over Soumya as a specialist batsman.

Bowling shouldn't be given as an advantage to Sarkar. However Sarkar has done much better in ODI over Liton and should get the start over him. Liton stays for T20s.

Soumya vs Liton - No Gloves!
I am putting 2k on Soumya.
Sarkar is bigger than Liton. In Kusti/wrestling or Boxing, Sarkar will beat Liton's butt back to ThatariBazaar!
But if it is Kung-Fu, I will bet on Liton. He is lean and thin and fast, He will kick Sarkar's backside back to Bhairabh.

Soumya and Liton are both flop players.Yes they have talent but they can't translate it into international cricket. They will only score 1 or 2 good innings in 10 to 15 matches. They're very inconsistent.

Both these players are immensely talented and both picked up their game from the Ashraful School of Thought which is highly frustrating.

My money is with Litton. Litton looks like chalu public, better looking.
SS has a vhodai vhodai look. Referee will always favor Litton.
