The ODI series should be used to figure out who our finisher should be.

Keep playing Soumya at 7 and Mithun at 5. Maybe Mithun at 3 and Imrul at 5 in one game. Riyad at 6 to maintain stability between Mithun and Soumya.

Rest Mash and Fizz. Maybe rest Mushy in third game and play Mosaddek. (#5 should be his in the future with Soumya/Mithun/someone else at 7.)

Shanto will be a waste, he should go back to domestic and sort demons out.

As posted in other thread, rest the seniors except Riad. Keep Sourov ready for test. Tushar, Suhash, Naeem, Enam Jr, Likhon comes in along with Shadman. Mash works as a consultant behind the scene. Liton keeps.

This series is a waste of time. This Zimbabwe side is weaker than the Uganda Disabled Women XI.

This series is the perfect time for our young batsman to gain some confidence. Liton needs to carry on from his India game and others need to follow.

Meanwhile Steyn gets his maiden 50 against Zim coming at number 9 when South Africa was tottering.

What a gem of an innings!

Yes 101/7 to ending up with 198. We need to keep an eye on this series. I know the condition will be totally different than what Zim will face but still gives us a good preview on what to expect.

In the ODI series, I will prepare one pitch where it's extremely good for batting, and in the other two games, I will prepare pitch which assists Mustafizur. In the test series, I will prepare rank turners, and that will mean we need to bring in a leg-spinner.

My Test X1 for Zim series,

Roni Talukdar/Shadman Islam
Liton Kumar Das (w.k)
Mominul Haque
Tushar Imran
Imrul Kayes
Naeem Islam/Ariful Haque
Shafiul/Shahadat
Mehedy Hasan Miraz/Enamul Haque Junior
Jubair Likhon
Shubhashish Roy/Abu Jayed
Quazi Anik/Afif Hossain

Selectors can rotate around based on venue experience and required condition.

Use tips from Tamim, Riad, Mash for strategy.

Mosaddek and SHanto should go back to NCL and repeat their excellence.

Not sure if such accusation has any validity.

Calendar is set by ICC long back for 5 year basis.

I think that was a needless thing to bring in this thread. The thing is BD has yet to decline any ICC proposed Afg tour to Bangladesh. India has refused to host us despite having the tour scheduled in ICC calendar few times. Anyways, this is an old news, many posts have been written regarding that and I dont want to derail this thread. Enjoy your stay

We haven't cancelled any Afghanistan tours. We've had 2 bilateral series with Afghans so far in 2 years.

I want to see Ashraful return for the Zimbabwe series. If some of the seniors aren't going to play, then you might as well bring another senior in place, and that's what Ashraful can provide.

All 5 seniors are effectively out of the series. Riyad is out too most likely from rib injury.

I wonder who will lead the sides

Afghanistan does not have the temperament to win tests yet. Ideal time to invite them and play in Bangladesh.

This Zimbabwe XI looks like Full Strength(minus Sikandar Raza)... and Bangladesh will be without their senior players. so There is a good chance that Zimbabwe will do quite well taking advantage of the inexperience of Bangladesh Depth. In addition, In the past, Zimbabwe has beaten Bangladesh when we were at full strength...

Sikander Raza is busy in the Afghan premier league.

Yesterday he made 79 off 40-odd balls

Does Sikander Raza still play for Zimbabwe? I remember that one of their brightest pacer (Blessing Muzarabani) retired from International cricket quite quickly to play English County matches and a lot of players also quit due to a protest.

He was not selected in the team for the SA series.

I know that before the series started, Streak wanted the Zimbabwe team to take a hiatus from international cricket.

Too much corruption in the inner workings of their cricket board.
