Who's still with Bangladesh Cricket?
When I first found out that the word "cricket" had other meanings besides an insect famous for its annoying chirping sounds, I was 14 years old. A couple of months earlier, Bangladesh had beaten Kenya for the ICC Trophy crown. Saeed Anwar had just set a new (at the time) world record of 194 in a match vs India. We sucked big time and we knew it.
But we didn't care.
I promptly returned home to the states, and forgot about cricket for the next several years. I didn't even bother to find out if the world cup could be followed from America. But I did know that a few of my friends watched the Pakistan game live at some uncle's house where everyone gathered to watch the world cup. I didn't really care. Then I heard we got Test status, which I didn't really know what it was other than being elite. But still I didn't really care.
The came the embarassment of the 2003 world cup. That was when I got hooked to cricket for some reason only God knows. We had the audicity to hope back then. Lots of now-debunked myths were held as gospel truth back then: Ashraful is the best thing to have happened to Bangladesh since Aurora got Niazi's ink on paper, we have so much/enough talent that in five years Bangladesh will be a competitive side, etc.
Since then we've managed to win a few games here and there, gotten a few accolades along the way.
And a whole lot of bullshit and humiliation.
But something still draws me back for me. Maybe I'm a masochist (perhaps I should put a piece of tape around my wee wee before the match starts today and see if its broken by the time the umpire takes the bails for stumps). When push meets shove, here I shall be waiting and wondering if our attack might somehow manage to snap this Pakistani opening partnership in the 90 overs we have available today.
I now see how foolish it was to think that we could be a competitive side "in five years time". Cricket, like any sport played at the highest level, is a culture. It doesn't happen overnight. We will have to wait possibly 10 or 20 years before we can even be a mediocre 6th ranked side in Test cricket. In order to develop that we will need 3 or 4 genuine test quality batsmen. We have only 1 so far. We will also need 2-3 genuine wicket takers. Again we have only 1 so far. So its going to be a long longgggg wait.
But I'm prepared. No matter what happens, I'll still be here. Roaming about.
Will you?

With bangladesh cricket till death. India's conspiracy kept our big brother pakistan away so long. They came back strong. Lotus kamal's spin pitch, coach change and performer player like Zunaed and Rokibul drop is the reason of our batting failure. We will survive like pakistan too.

Commitment is a two way street in any relationship. One can't expect the fan to be 110% committed to watching every ball when they know the players and the team won't be giving even 50% on the field. These days I don't feel compelled to watch every ball of a series, but as long as I watch one match live and read the match reports for the others, I'm happy.
That said, of course I'm still with Bangladesh cricket and always will be, at least in spirit.

I'll support BD against any team (except India) until Shak retires.
There are going to be ups and downs and humiliations, which makes the good moments more sweet.

This is pretty much a given. Those that say from time to time oh Im done with Banglsdesh Cricket are just fooling themselves. because the truth is deep down inside they still check the score they still read the news get updates on the team. We are all pretty much on the same boat.
See you all in the loser circle.

BD and I are on a break. But we are still together. Things aren't just going too well between us. It has commitment issues. But I still check up on it, every now and then.
(I just don't wanna break my new lap top)

"Majhe majhe tobo dekha pai, chirodin keno pai na" - referring to our winning moments, sweet moments and great moments
Being a Bangladeshi I don't think we have any other option than to support our team. We are bound to support our team through its ups and downs as that's our duty as a supporter. So no matter how bitter it seems at times or how helpless we feel, the truth is we love our team and proud of our boys for whatever little pride they brought for us !!!

Does one's team have to win all the time for one to enjoy or like a game? It's the painstaking torture that sends me off rather than the loss. They are just letting the opponent walk all over themselves... But BD can have 0-100 streak and it still won't deter me, rather make me even look forward to the first victory.
