Graeme Swann fined for ICC Code of Conduct breach
England’s Graeme Swann has been fined 10 per cent of his match fee after being found guilty of breaching the ICC’s Code of Conduct during the ICC Cricket World Cup match against Bangladesh in Chittagong on Friday.
Swann was charged with a Level 1 offence under article 2.1.4 of the code which relates to, ‘Using language or a gesture that is obscene, offensive or insulting during an international match.’

I'm still a fan of Swann his ball change antics notwithstanding. this is a guy who made some transgressions during the last BD tour and apologized afterwards. Sehfag could learn a thing or five from him. ray price is a similar bloke, but plays for a hopeless side and so his antics are nothing more than annoying. Swann is a good bowler and a good chap. good on ICC for enforcing the rules and i hope Swann can channel his passion for the game better next time.

I assume it was his this is *horseshit* comment that was deemed as crossing the line...hehe.
No biggie, players lose their cool sometimes, I found Strauss and the English to be very magnanimous after their defeat.

Was that what he said? I couldn't catch it. He was mightily frustrated though. Given that this was in Bangladesh, it was probably *gabor* and not *h...*.

What about Shakib's argument with the umpire and the subsequent use of foul language after his review was dismissed by the third umpire?

Swann = Law breaker
Shakib = Not fined and I think cos of his good manners he was provided few extra replays

On the Sun
I’m sorry but it was mad to play on with wet ball
GRAEME SWANN - Cricket columnist
I WAS wrong to swear and lose my temper during England's defeat against Bangladesh and I apologised straightaway to umpire Daryl Harper.
But I think it was ludicrous to play a day/night match in the World Cup that was so heavily influenced by the dew.
The ball was so wet it was like trying to bowl with a bar of soap.
I literally couldn't grip it and I'm not kidding when I say my figures of 2-42 represented one of my best spells for England because the conditions were so tricky.
We were bitterly disappointed by our loss and now we have a must-win match against West Indies on Thursday if we are to reach the quarter-finals.
My frustration boiled over on Friday evening and I was trying to get the ball changed.
It felt like playing football with both hands tied behind my back.
The ball was changed three times in total but it should have been changed every two or three overs.
Of course, the dew wasn't the umpires' fault but every time the replacement rolled across the outfield, it became drenched.
I try to spin the ball hard, so I need to be able to grip it. I was getting more and more frustrated because the wicket was such a good one to bowl spin on.
To be caught swearing by the stump mic was very disappointing. I don't condone bad language on the field, especially if it is directed near the umpire.
I was muttering things to myself under my breath that were far worse and I'm glad they weren't picked up.
Andrew Strauss told me to calm down, which was fair enough. I apologised to Daryl, saying, 'Sorry, that was out of line'.
My punishment was to be docked 10 per cent of my match fee but I shouldn't be fined at all.
When you have venues where the dew is heavy, day/night cricket shouldn't be played there.
At some grounds, spin bowlers might as well not play if they have to bowl at night.
We had to stay in our dressing room until 2.30am because there were thousands of Bangladeshis in the streets around our hotel.
It was quite cathartic, actually. We were hacked off at losing but a few beers arrived and we sat and talked about the game. It allowed us to move on.
Following England in this World Cup is a bit like following Newcastle United - you never know what you're going to get. One minute we're beating South Africa, the next we're losing to Ireland and Bangladesh.
We have no chance unless we sort out our consistency.
And although it has been a long, hard winter, we need to ask ourselves some questions if we can't pull it out the bag for the World Cup

Well the bowl was still wet after Shakib and Imrul got out. How come none of the English bowler seem to have problem with the ball as soon our batsman's started getting out?

Grow some pairs, and stop your sissiness Mr. Swann. Be a Roman in Rome. When teams go to England they do not complain about hazy seaming situations or whatever pitch you asked your curator to create.
Ridiculous.
