I have marked your prediction. Here is my prediction: If Bernie is the nominee, he will win more than 35 states.

Since the rule of game is electoral college and not popular vote, winning the presidency ultimately boils down to winning few swing states. That is where the strength of Bernie lies against Trump.
Even in 2016, Bernie was sure to win the rust belt states - Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Indiana. But the Democratic establishment has a flawed strategy. They organize southern states primary early to prop up a candidate they like - and yes Hillary won the Southern states and became a front runner by Super Tuesday. But did it matter? It did not because those states are guaranteed red in general.
Had Hillary chosen Bernie or even Elizabeth Warren as her VP, she would be POTUS today. But out of her hubris, she could not choose anyone more popular than her. She wanted the limelight completely on her, and thus she chose a no name plastic Republican-lite Tim Kaine as her running mate. Result? Trump is POTUS, Bernie gets to run again, and she is going to grave as the biggest ever political LOSER.
Among the democratic candidates of 2020, none comes close to Bernie in terms of strength to win rust belt states. Not even Biden. Bernie is also very likely to flip one state from Arizona, Texas, and Florida.
That is why Trump is worried only about Bernie, because this is the only candidate against whom he cannot hold the swing states he needs for reelection. Trump is stupid but he has better political acumen than many of the highly paid Republican and Democratic strategists, who actually know nothing.

I think it'll come down to a showdown between Bernie and Biden. Bernie will win against Biden but Biden would stand a better chance against Trump. Not sure America is ready for a Jewish president.

I would like nothing more than Bernie to be the nominee, so I can start blasting him full time. We can bet, sure. Nothing too heavy though. Because it's as much about not letting Bernie win as much as it is about predicting defeat for him.
I don't want this fraud running any country, let alone one as great as America.

This is classic republican projection. The FRAUD in chief is the POTUS now, but somehow Bernie is the fraud.

Sanders campaigns at NH - note the following exchange
Quote:
“Today we say to Walmart, we say to the fast food industry —” Sanders began at one point, preparing to make his case for higher wages.
“Fu*k you!” a woman interrupted, drawing cheers from the crowd and a grin from Sanders.
“Well, that’s one way that we say it,” he responded. “I’m a United States senator. I can’t say that. But what we will say is: Start paying your employees a living wage.”

Commie loon owns 3 houses, yet lectures ppl on how many houses, boats, cars they need. Scum!
Once you see the twinkling fraud in his eyes, there is no going back. So fair warning, if you are a commie, and want to remain in your commie bubble, do not spend too much time on my posts, or you will be converted. And then you may become more enraged than me, and do something silly, which I will take no responsibility for, just heads up. Haha.

Sanders is never against owning multiple houses or yachts, as long as you are paying your fair share of taxes and believe in a society where each and every human being lives, not equal, but a dignified life.
If you don't believe in a vision of life of dignity for each and every human being, you won't be able to enjoy your mansions. Would you like if homeless people defecate outside your mansion? May be you will now call for gentrification.
Recently I discovered a great article on the topic of socialism and capitalism on paste magazine. Here are few excerpts:
Quote:
Capitalism is private ownership controlling the means of production for the express purpose of profit. Having stuff people want and exchanging it for a reasonable fee is supply and demand—which has existed at least since the barter economy (a farmer giving a chicken to a doctor in exchange for medical care is about as pure an expression of supply and demand as it gets). I agree with the never-gonna-be-a-congressman that supply and demand—not capitalism—is what we should devote our economic might toward. Supply and demand has always been an economic expression of humanity's free will.
However, if you take capitalism to its logical end, it's oligarchy. The presence of American anti-trust laws (that we refuse to enforce anymore) is an indictment against the theoretical model of capitalism. Without them, capitalism would go off the rails. This disproves the assertion that it is the best, most efficient system to create broad prosperity—the truth is that an entire federal bureaucracy is required to keep the “free market” broadly prosperous.
...
Capitalism is a series of contradictions between in-theory and in-practice. In theory, private property is a wondrous invention. Most governments throughout history have had an authoritarian lean (at best), so the concept of individual citizens being able to buy plots of land to call their own is an egalitarian promise…in theory. In practice, property becomes expensive (thanks to its fixed supply and infinite demand), and so the vast majority of it is eventually owned by large conglomerates which are less accountable to the public than the British Monarchy was. There are near-infinite examples like this where capitalism in practice repudiates capitalism in theory, but during my near-decade doing sales, I learned that you don't convince people with logic. You convince them with stories.
...
Reality Keeps Moving Me Left
Single payer healthcare is a topic I have lately come to accept as just and necessary. I used to think that with enough regulation, you could properly incentivize the market not to turn sick people into money trees, but given the undeniable evidence of the moral abomination that is the American healthcare system, I have accepted that is a foolish premise. We need government-run health care. End of story.
Capitalism Is Colonialism
First off, capitalism hasn't been around that long. We act like it's the only economic truth the world has ever known, but capitalism has existed for roughly 10% of the 5,000 years of recorded human history. Secondly, and most importantly, capitalism broadly rose in tandem with the Transatlantic Slave Trade. Capitalism simply could not exist in its present iteration without slave labor.
The United States of America was built on the graves of Native Americans and on the backs of slaves from Africa. That fact is indisputable, and our failure to reckon with those horrible truths of our inception informs our present malaise. Any society which deems itself civilized should want to move away from colonialist traditions, yet free-market radicalism wants to bust down the barriers and let the new colonialists roam free yet again. Deregulation almost always benefits massive businesses to the detriment of smaller ones, and if you believe otherwise, you haven't paid enough attention to the oligarchic effects of Republican governance in the 21st century.
America was built on a contradiction. Our founding fathers asserted that all men were created equal, yet it was still legal for one man to own another. They had a lot of great ideas—like the 4th Amendment (by far the most underrated Amendment)—but they weren't perfect. We treat them like demigods because we can't/don't want to envision a society different from the one to which we have become inured. Our founding fathers were supposedly ideologically flawless, therefore we have no structural issues that must be addressed—so our origin story goes.
Our founders made mistakes. They knew they made mistakes. That's why they gave us the 10th Amendment, which was their way of saying “we know we missed some stuff/have to plan for the future, so the states can figure all that out.”
It's high time that we start questioning some aspects of the founding fathers' vision, along with many notions of the late 20th century order (deregulation as an ideology didn't really begin in earnest until the late 1970s)—and there's only one political group with a member in congress* undertaking this broad responsibility.
...
Socialism Has Worked In America
Despite the characterization of socialism as “radical,” it's nothing new to this country. What do you think Social Security is? It practically has socialism in its name!
Or what about the rest of the New Deal? It was implemented by Franklin Delano Roosevelt—universally regarded as one of America's greatest presidents (despite the fact that he put over 100,000 Japanese Americans in internment camps)—as he enacted an aggressive government plan to kick-start the sputtering economy in 1933. World War II makes it difficult to gauge how effective it was long-term—as the war served as something of a massive economic stimulus plan—but programs like the Tennessee Valley Authority were indisputably successful in rehabilitating economically distressed areas.
OH GOD SHUT UP ABOUT VENEZUELA ALREADY
Sorry to be so loud and abrupt, but I need to address what is seemingly the only conservative critique against socialism before the noise in my head gets too loud. There's a simple rule of American politics: if you hate socialism, Venezuela is the only socialist country in existence. If you like socialism, Norway is your answer to most questions.
Nearly every conservative in existence seems to be an expert on the disaster in Venezuela. Yeah, it's bad, and the country was theoretically socialist—HOWEVER—Hugo Chavez was given the ability to rule by decree every year between 2000 and 2012, save for 2009. Nicolas Maduro has been ruling by decree since he came into office in 2013. If conservatives want to go down the road of asserting that a “socialist” country unilaterally ruled by a cult of personality is actually emblematic of broader socialism, then I have some bad news for conservatives about the massive capitalist influx into 1990s Russia, and where that all stands today. Not every country perfectly executes its stated political ideology, because oligarchy has been a fact of human life as long as there has been human life.
...
hOw ArE yOu GoInG tO pAy FoR iT?
This is a question which is only ever asked of liberal solutions, and the perpetually disproved “tax cuts pay for themselves” GOP nonsense is accepted without any serious challenge. That said, I'll engage with this bad faith argument about how we may struggle to pay for stuff like universal health care with our $19 TRILLION PER YEAR ECONOMY (China's the 2nd largest in the world at $14 trillion).
What if I told you that the American military pays for a plane that is completely unreliable, seems to be specifically designed to kill its pilots, and costs over $400 billion (not including the $1.1 trillion it will cost to keep it running until 2070)?
Well my friends, such a beast exists, and it's thanks to the military-industrial complex. Congress wants the F-35 more than the military does. We could wipe out nearly half of all student loan debt by just killing the F-35 and redistributing Lockheed Martin's funds to debtors across the country. And that's just one military boondoggle! I'm all for carrying a far bigger stick than everyone else so as to act as a deterrent to war, but America's military budget has become truly grotesque. A lot of the answers to “how will you pay for it?” (a question that quite literally is never asked when it's a military expenditure), can be found collecting dust in the Department of Defense.
Hell, the Pentagon basically trips over $125 billion in waste per year. So don't ask me where the money to help our must vulnerable is coming from. There's plenty of money available, and that's before you get to the fact that government is really just one big accounting spreadsheet—AND we have the global reserve currency.
Our national debt is mostly owed to our future selves. It is not the terrifying monolith that conservatives have depicted. It's (partially) fungible because it intersects with so many other areas of policy (this is where I break from most socialists and assert that the national debt is also not something that we can completely dismiss, as our current interest payment on the debt is $310 billion, and the 47% owned by foreigners is nothing to sneeze at).
In short, we already create money out of thin air, and the world has no choice but to accept it—all I'm arguing is that we should create that money in order to help people beyond a small cabal of bankers.

^ Nice read, but can easily be picked apart.Almost everything is a talking point from the Dem playbook. But I understand the need to pump out more such articles of course, because conservatism is kicking so much *** recently, that you would have to churn out quite a lot of those just to keep things in balance.
But I don't know what you are trying to prove. Commie Loon is not the answer. He didn't say anything about taxes when he made that comment about millionaires owning too many houses, boats, etc. All he is concerned about is lecturing the 1%, 2%, when many of those guys are small to medium business owners themselves, creating jobs, and trying very hard to create more.
What job has Commie Loon ever created except the jobs created out of the tax payer's money. Typical hypocrite.

Conservatives are not kicking any @$$, but they are simply receiving a bit of Trumpian medicine from the progressives.
A Trump technique is to say some outrageous $***, advertently or inadvertently, which consequently creates such media stirring that it sucks all oxygen and forces all media conversation to center around it. Trump's objective is not truth; his objective is to force people to start a conversation and keep them busy.
When Bernie unabashedly preaches democratic socialism or AOC proposes green new deal or Ilhan Omar goes against Washington orthodoxy, it creates similar outrage from media. This is actually good. This is how you play politics in Trump age. This forces a conversation to start, and this is a first step in creating public opinion.
Conservatives are shocked seeing the boldness of progressives because they are used to dealing with WEAK and PATHETIC democrats like Obama and Co who never fought back. Times are changing!

Sanders, if I recall correctly, never made any comment about billionaires owning multiple houses or cars. He simply calls them out for tax evasion.
BTW, republicans believe in small government and believe that private entrepreneurship, not government, should create jobs. Therefore, by your own logic, it is not Bernie's job to create jobs. His job is to enable policies that will help entrepreneurs create jobs. Did he do that? He did. Republicans always supported job destroying policies like NAFTA and TPP, but Bernie - he always vehemently opposed all trade deals.

Yesterday CNN organized three town halls for three lesser known candidates. Here is my quick evaluation of their performance:
John Delany: Horrible to say the least. Only corporate democrat talking points, nothing of substance. The sooner this impotent 90 era Clintonite democrat is castrated and banished from the scene, the better.
Pete Buttigieg: He came across as smart. All his answers had substance. He acted and talked like a normal human being and did not come across as scripted. He gave some witty responses, which shows he has a great sense of humor.
Tulsi Gabbard: She received tough questions throughout. She spoke slowly and carefully. She did well. I wish she were more forceful in answering certain questions to prove her true passion/position. When she was asked the gotcha question like if she would call herself a socialist or capitalist, she simply said she would not delve into name calling or labeling but rather preferred all working together to come out with policies that work for all. If I was asked that question, I would have put that moderator on the spot with this reply:
Sir, you are trying to put me on the spot by forcing me to say whether I am a capitalist or a socialist. I assume you are a capitalist. Can you define capitalism for me, a label that you so proudly associate yourself with? I am sure President Trump does not know anything about these labels, even though he dog whistles the public day and night about them. You know what? By asking this gotcha question, you are not doing any service to American people, you are simply playing into the hands of Trump, probably subconsciously.

Salacious stories are emerging about CROOKED Co(p)mala Harris' dating life. At 29, CROOKED Kamala dated a 60 year old married guy, who BTW was estranged from his wife at that time, and very unsurprisingly, he did some political favors to her.
https://www.refinery29.com/en-us/201...exist-coverage
Now progressives do not care about private lives of people, and but if a partner in the relationship can yield power over you by virtue of holding a public office, genuine questions can be asked about intention and mutual consent of that relationship.
Of course Bernie is too much of a gentleman ( ) to exploit these stories to beat Crooked Kamala, but primaries resort to this sort of dirty tactics all the time to beat opponents. Hillary tried to paint Obama as a Moslem born in Kenya, Bush portrayed McCain as someone who had an extra marital affair, the outcome of which was Bridget McCain.
If Crooked Kamal is coronated, Trump will have field day with these stories and he will hit her hard (in Trump's words). He will start by saying, "I really don't want to say this, but people are saying this.....". And he will end by saying, "BTW, no one respects women more than me!"

TOTAL LOSER LIGHTWEIGHT Beta O'Dork declared his candidacy with the following front page in Vanity Fair:
Note his quote: “I want to be in it. Man, I’m just born to be in it.” Who declares his candidacy by saying that it is all about ME and my ego? Not only Bernie, if any other contender had jumped into the race saying he or she was destined to be the POTUS, his candidacy would be over even before it started. But you don't hear any outcry about Beta O'Dork, because he is the anointed candidate of Center for American Progress, which is led by none other a great Crooked Hillary minion Neera Tanden.
People are pointing the fact that he lost by only 2.5% against Ted Cruz in Texas Senate race, but that happened because (1) he campaigned hard (2) Lizard Man Lyin' Ted is one of the most despised men even among the Republicans, and 50% of Republicans hate him. Thus HIGH ENERGY Beto O'Rourke will turn into LOW ENERGY Beta O'Dork in a national race.
Beta O'Dork thinks himself as White Obama because of his looks and rhetoric. He thinks he can win despite being a moderate Republican (per his voting records and fund raising history). But the fact is he is NO Obama. He is not charismatic like Obama. In terms of eloquence, he is no where close to Obama.
And more importantly, each campaign is unique. It is foolish to think that you can simply replicate someone and win. That never happens. Obama coalition will never happen. You have to build your own coalition. You have to create your own history. And like the Clintons, Obama is in wrong side of history, and copying him will only bring failure, as this article notes:
Quote:
America’s already had the real Obama as President for eight years and its response was to vote in the least qualified presidential candidate in the history of the US, a man who in every way was the complete antithesis of his predecessor.
|
His speeches are full of empty vapid platitudes that will excite NOBODY. Even before starting, he described his campaign as the greatest campaign of American history . His Iowa campaign speech was unbearable to say the least.
Him joining the race is a good thing for Bernie - it will further divide centrist votes. Plus with so many centrist candidates, oligarchs/donor class will also struggle to unite behind one candidate, which means centrist candidates will struggle to raise money to seriously compete in the first five primaries, which will decide the fate. Also too many centrist candidates means DNC will find it hard to cheat, which was much easier in 2016, because in that two way race, simple voter suppression resulted in many Hillary victories.

btw if he is elected will he ban all cars and trains and make skateboard only legal way of transportation? Where he stands in Ganja? Is he Ganja smoking like Komola? did he inhaled or just kept it in his mouth and just released? Can he make rings with the smoke? What is he position on immigration and illegals?

Second paragraph, last sentence...you made a typo. You spelt his name as 'O'Rourke' instead of 'O'Dork'.

In his campaign launch video, he spoke about climate change as if an apocalypse is just about to happen:
Quote:
"This is a defining moment of truth for this country, and for every single one of us. The challenges that we face right now; the interconnected crises in our economy, our democracy, and our climate have never been greater," he said in his 2020 announcement. "And they will either consume us, or they will afford us the greatest opportunity to unleash the genius of the United States of America."
|
So what is the policy prescription to tackle this issue? Note what he said in Iowa:
Quote:
“Regardless of what it is,” O’Rourke said of the myriad issues raised at a campaign stop in Burlington, “we’ve got to make sure that this very divided, highly polarized country is able to come together, that we find enough common ground to pursue the common good, that we all have a common conception of who we are as Americans before we’re Republicans and Democrats.”

Does it sound phony and familiar like STRONGER TOGETHER?
To follow US politics, you need something in you called Bull$**t detector. Because the field is full of coached straight talking liars and smooth talking bull$**ter. I was naïve and got fooled by Obama when I followed his 2008 campaign, because I did not develop that detector. The unfortunate reality is, majority of Americans do not have this detector, which allows politicians like Beta O'dork, Crooked Kamala, Choker Cory to pop up to fame.
Beta will not do anything to tackle climate change because he is in bed with fossil fuel industry. In Congress, he voted 167 times with Trump and Republicans. He is PHONY to the core.

PERVERT + CREEPY Uncle Joe, who is well known for inappropriately touching women and hugging them, and even giving them a rub down while hugging, will be toast should he decides to run, and even Trump's inner circle understands it:
Biden will be a bust, Trump aides assure their boss
The following paragraph is so telling. In 2004, Dean was the leftist candidate, but DNC chose corporatist BORING ROBOT Kerry, and unsurprisingly, he lost to Bush II. And they repeated the mistake in 2016 with Hillary. Trump's inner circle is hoping that DNC makes the same mistake in 2020, which DNC is very likely to commit. The first order of business for the democratic party is not to beat Republicans, but to ensure that their own party do not go back to FDR roots and become a true people's party.
Quote:
While Biden’s advisers admit this dynamic presents challenges, they believe that pragmatism can prevail over left-wing passion, just as it did when Democrats nominated Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry rather than anti-Iraq war firebrand Howard Dean in 2004. They also point to recent polls showing “electability” as the top trait Democratic voters are looking for in a potential nominee — above all, they want someone who can beat Trump.
|
Trump previously called him 1% Joe, and this name will stick:
Quote:
“He ran two or three times, he never got above 1 percent,” Trump said of Biden in a recent Fox News interview. “And then, Obama came along and took him off the trash heap, and he became vice president. He’s weak. So we’ll see what happens with him.”

^ It's ok dude, they will give it to Bernie. You don't have to bash the other dems any longer. Haha.
I saw some recent interviews with the loon. He's started the racial pandering already (dead giveaway for a Dem frontrunner). Says he will make his cabinet the most diverse in history irrespective of qualifications. But he finally had the balls to admit that he was robbed off nomination last time. So I liked that part, and that also told me that they have agreed behind doors to give it to him, where he doesn't fear the super delegates any longer.

An unscientific poll result:
Link
Quote:
These straw polls are not scientific. They show supporter enthusiasm and the ability of campaigns to GOTV— get out the vote. It is massively easier to get someone to click on an online straw poll than it is to get people to actually get out and vote in a primary.
An impartial Democratic leadership would see this as an abject failure of every other declared or undeclared candidate to influence this poll, and a sign of the potential Bernie Sanders brings to the table. And note that I did not receive anything from the Sanders campaign about voting in this poll.
This suggests to me that the Bernie Sanders base is incredibly powerful. If the Democratic party gets behind him, the potential for building energy, hope and enthusiasm is profoundly more powerful than what Kamala Harris, Joe Biden, Beto O'Rourke, Elizabeth Warren or any other candidate have shown they have to offer.

If Bernie wants the nomination, this how he has to win - landslide such that no shenanigans will work.
