In today's match, Mushfiq and Jahurul did good keeping. Dhiman's keeping has deteriorated. Jahurul's batting does not stand up to international bowling. Bijoy's keeping is ordinary as well. I would be very happy if Mushfiqur proves me wrong by becoming a good WK, but I am always afraid that he will drop a couple of sitters in the next match.

I think BC as a whole should ask for Mushfiq's forgiveness.

Have you watched him keep? He drops catches that even para WK would not drop. He has improved his keeping, though. Whether this is real remains to be seen. Let's see how he performs against SL.

Why? The fans praise good performances and bad-mouth bad ones.

in my opinion, this should be the team in tests

1. Tamim
2. Imrul/Jaharul
3. Anamul/Jaharul
4. Naeem
5. Shakib
6. Mushfiq
7. Riyad
8. Nasir
9. Shohag
10.Shafiul
11. Rubel

Putting Gosh is a stupid idea, who ever said we can sacrifice a batsman for a specialist WK hasnt watched us play. Sure Mushy isn't the best, but he is agile and is excellent in running people out, One of the best in the world, his catching and stumpings are slowly improving he is still young, 24, Jaharul is 26, Gosh is 25/26 and bearly averages over 10 in 15 odd test matches if i remember correctly.

Of the players who kept wicket for the national side, none is very good. Who knows what Nurul Hasan will develop into. Dhiman used to be a good WK, but my gosh, look at him now!

I still am not sold on Mushfiq that WK or Mushfiq the skipper. But, if he can concentrate on batting only, he might be able to raise him average by 10, going forward. Nurul Hasan, do not regress.

he shouldnt in ODI and T20 because his place is not cemented in these two version. let anamul do the job and let him play in test match. again, we cant male opposition all out in test because of mushfiq and his keeping. i think dhiman should replace him in test

yeah jahurul is a part time wicket keeper, isn't an option imo unless he starts to do it full time and is good. so if dhiman really has deteriorated then mushy is the only option atm, in time nurul might be an option. what about mithun? i know his keeping when he first came about wasn't very good but has he improved at all?

Actually, some of the great wickies were pint sized -almost like Mushy. Tall keepers find it quite difficult to keep to the spinners. BD's attack is spin heavy. It will remain so for the foreseeable future. Little Mushy fits to a tee, here.

And, lets not get too carried away with "size". Remember -most beautiful things come in small packages.

Dhiman's current keeping form is not good. Right now, there is no better option available, it appears. Hopefully, Nurul Hasan will not be a clumsy 6-footer.

Good wicketkeepers have to be quick and athletic. However, some WK without these traits have managed to do well by improving their anticipation. WK also have to focus for long. Mushfiq and Jahurul both suffer from occasional mental lapses.

The best wicketkeeper I have ever seen was Syed Kirmani. Toward the end of his career, no one used to play the leg-glance against India. If the ball stayed up, Kirmani would get it no matter how far it was. Allan Knott and Rodney Marsh were good as well.
