Well, Gandhi did come to Noakhali in 1946 to set up one of his ashrams.
I don't know about Polo, Buddha and Alexander, but would love to find out.

Robert Clive came to Meherpur in 1757, who arguably changed the face of the sub continent forever.

How can one forget Ibn Batuta? He out poloed marco in his travels. A Moroccan Berber he traveled 75 thousand miles in a 30 year period including a visit to the then capital Sonragaon.

Megasthenes was a Greek traveler from the Hellenic period (300+ BC) and was also Selecus I's ambassador to Chandragupta Maurya's court.

He is reputed to have visited Pundranagar - the oldest urban citizen in what is now Bangladesh dating back to 4-5th century BC.
