Default NZ in SA 12/13

First game of the series is under way. It would be interesting to see how NZ do without their key players Taylor, Southee and Vettori.

For SA, Q.De Kock gets the SA T20 cap in this game.

I think he will be a top wk batsman for SA in the upcoming years. He should also make Test debut ASAP(would have been perfect in this series but he wasn#t picked) as i think AB de Villiers keeping is not int standard, specially in TEST!!!!

BTW Q.De Kock's B'day is on the 17th December. born a day after Anamul Coincidently, both are top order batsman and a wk

And many were complaining how we put Anamul in too early. Even though SA is 1 of the top teams, they've decided to start having him in the national side already. Look for Chand of India and Babar of Pakistan to also feature in their respective countries soon as well.

TBH, SA have no option. it seems their wk pipeline is very poor that a part timer like ABD have to keep even in test.

Well we have a weak pipeline of top order batsmen which is why Anamul got in earlier than expected and didn't have to wait as long as Mominul. If a young promising player is there and there aren't better options, then why go with the "experienced" players if they already proved they aren't very good. This is the point people were trying to make with Anamul and so far Anamul is proving to be the best of our other top order batsmen despite having some technical issues.

i don't know about the quality of keeping but SA do have a couple of keepers who have pretty good FC batting averages. as far as de kock goes apparently he doesn't keep for his province side when they are full strength, but he also apparently has a lot of talent with the gloves as he does with the bat so he could be someone really special if it all develops along well. but i'm sure SA have good quality glovemen, they also have decent keeper batsmen (a couple that average in the 40s) so i don't think SA have a poor keeper pipeline, i think at the time boucher had to leave they didn't want to lose any batting strength and AB keeps in ODIs and bats well so they figured they'd give him ago with that role in tests so that they already have someone experienced in there and someone who is proven quality batsman.

i don't think they were ready to bring de kock into the side, at least not the test team. i think they've giving him ago in the shorter formats to see where he's at, if he can handle it and if he's ready.

also when is luke ronchi eligible for NZ selection? he's not the best with the gloves but they really could use his batting ability, not as consistent as gjuys like flower, gilchrist, dhoni etc but when he's onsong he scores lots of runs fast, even in test cricket, a genuine match winner with the bat on his day and like gilly he can change a test match within a matter of 30 minutes.

Ronchi was a machine years back when he played in Australia. Consistency is his worst enemy. He was in poor form for a while and im happy for him that he moved to NZ to keep his playing career alive. As you said he is that type of batsmen that can take the game away from you.

I think he is regaining his lost form which is good to see. Made back to back centuries in the same match 2 days ago in the Plunket Shield. Both centuries were at a 90+ strike rate One of them was at a strike rate of 120

De kock has huge arms. Very strong lad. lol Anamuls age is 20yrs and 5 days old and de Kock is 20yrs and 4 days old. Both hot prospects for their respective countries, both keepers.

NZ just isn't good enough for SA. I see them giving a fight but doubt them winning any series or even any match.

New Zealand are minnows now and are clearly declining, won't be surprised if Bangladesh beat them in the Test and ODI series when they meet eachother next year. Saw the brief highlights of that match and they were playing like Kenya.

I made a pole a few weeks back on who is the most promising youngster and one of them included De Kock and boy he's some talent. But Anamul Haque in my opinion is better than him mind you he too can wicket-keep.

NZ might perform like kenya but the talent is much higher. i guess they're in a similar situation to BD, the talent is there but the consistent performance is not.

Did you see this horrible show? Really cricket was put to shame by Black Caps. Some idiot commented in cricinfo that Bangladesh is wrongly put in top of NZ and look how they performed. It shows that how much they are depended on McCullum. He fails, the whole team fails. Even with half the RSA team filled with debutants, they remained outplayed in every area. Fielding was so eye-soaring to watch.

And the circus continues. 3 fielders attempted to take a simple catch, in the end nobody could decide who should approach. Silly NZ.
