Default Every thing about Faisal Hossain

It seems that this guy has improved his batting a lot.He has improved his medium pace bowlling as well.(Hav controversy about bowling action). Can we consider him for the national team again?Lets look at his career:

We need to see footage of him in action...both in batting and bowling. Esp since tar bowling action was questionable in the past, and ppl are also worried about his technique...Remember Phil Hughes is considered a future opener for Australia despite his techniques but then again not everyone is him.

i'm cautious with him because many people talk about his poor technique with the bat, also i thought i read that in a recent match his bowling action was picked up so i think unless we've seen him play a few times it's difficult to make any picks on him.

yeah but hughes is incredible tbh, he's scored mountains of runs no matter what level he's played in, he was averaging in the 60s or high 50s in FC cricket when he was selected for the aussie test team. go to cricketarchive.com and look at his average for every match he's played and in 106 matches (134 innings), he's averaging 51.89 and that includes u17 games, u19 games, AIS games, centre of excellence games, NSW games, Aus A games, Aus national team games, county games. he's currently averaging in the 60s in FC cricket, 48.75 in t20s and i guess by his standards a disappointing 37.52 in list A cricket.

The way this guy is performing in both ball and bat that is amaizing. He is the true competitor of Farhad Reza as a pace all rounder.I am also worried about his bowling action. But his action was not enlisted in list A rather he was listed in list B (Keep eye on him).As per his interview in todays Prothom Alo he has faced the bowling action committee and the result will be published soon.If he pass then he will be permitted to bowl in DPL this year.
He has bowled in Maharastra and practice matches against Zimbabwe there was on objection from the umpires so i am hopeful about purity of his bowling action.

He has poor technique. I can still remember his batting while playing for national side.

As far as I know, Faisal is a Left arm spinner. But in his cricinfo profile it says, "Right-arm medium-fast". Anyone confirm which one is correct?

Faisal was really vulnerable against short pitched bowling when I last saw him. He was that much bad that he was like moving away towards leg-stamp against bouncer. Not sure how much he has improved on that. Like many other BD batsman, he is good at playing spin. Again, he had many flaws in his technique last time i saw him. So, can't comment how he has shaped. Needs some foreign tour with "A" tour may be.

I watched him in his debut series a good few years ago and although I don't believe one has to have great technique to survive in international cricket, my impression was that he wouldn't go too far if he didn't bring about a major overhaul in his batting.

But then, people change. I haven't seen him since.

He is genuinely gifted when playing spin bowling. Sucks playing against quality fast bowlers.

I remember the huge, huge hype about him before he was selected for a WI tour. He was super duper bumper flop.

The main reason he was so hyped up was because he bats left handed at at that time that was hard to find. I have no idea how he is faring so many years later.

but, are we going to end up with a 'everything/official' thread about every player? This is getting very annoying and I think mods should stop this.

Tagging as genuinely gifted would be a bit overrate. Anyways Tokai sums up nicely.

I saw him in the windies tour of 2004 and was not particularly impressed by his technique.

Going by developments over the years and recent performances, I hope things have changed and can continue his form domestically and for the A-team.

For national team development, I don't want to see him in the team till post England away series where that would be a good time to assess our performance during the last year which commences tomorrow..

I have played with him last year, He came here to play minor county. We invite him to play for our team.He bowled few overs. He was quite expensive but his batting was impressive.
As a person this guy is good.

Is he any good?

or

Is he still getting raw deal, after getting brief opportunity too early at the wrong time in his career?

That is the real question for some of us.

He spells it "Decance", typical really. Maybe a bizarre ode to the mighty Deccan Blues our matobbors used to struggle against?

I wonder why he hasn't played a single match after his debut? I mean even if he is hopeless, 1 test? Clearly some mismanagement there.

Does anyone rate him? I've seen him bowl and looked like a chucker at the time.

Decans might have good domestic stats but watch him bat and you'll know he doesn't have the technique to survive in international cricket. Doesn't sight the ball very well and with his atrocious footwork, he never seemed like a real prospect.
