Ash might have to open again with SN. I do not see any other option. Unless Aftab take that role. My ODI XI:-
SN
ASH/AFTAB
AFTAB/BASHER
BASHER/SAQIB
SAQIB/ASH
KM
MUSHRAFEE
RAFIQ
RAZZAQ
SHAHADAT
SYED RASEL

Ashraful is not opening anymore according to the selectors. He might be in 5/6 position again.

Rainsford will prolly join the team from the 2nd ODI. Cramer is coming to play in the FC matches, not in the ODI series.

Will the crowd attendance be the same as it was for the 20-20. Acoording to Tiger cricket, a sparse crowd were entertained at the Khulna stadium. If thats the matter, then I am not at all impressed.

ODI is a different story in BD. Twenty20 is new in BD I guess that was the reason!?

First ODI's gonna be a full packed house!
I think Mehrab is getting a chance instead of Reza..Ashraful aint opening..anytime sooner!
And Please pick Shahadat..instead of Syed Rasel.

We will have tough fight not sure how we will do but Bd will have contest if the batsmen are not serious. Even one can't totally contribute everybody gota contribute with atleast one contributing 60 to 70 runs. We were good at 20/20 because none of our batsmen are capable of staying in the crease longer than 30 runs besides one or two. This will be a test, and I hope our top order is ready to take the challenge. Bashar should act otherwise he should be punished.

Tickets for 1st ODI is sold out. So it should be full house.

seeing that the game is in khulna, i'd be surprised if a few drunk people and some stray dogs were the only ones to show up in an odi. 20/20's useless, so i wouldn't worry too much about the lack of popularity.
had this been dhaka, though, i'd expect the galleries to be at least 25% empty.

Shahadat should be picked ahead of Rasel. Rasel's slow medium pace is useless in placid pitches. We need Rajib's pace and aggression. GO BD!

My pick for the eleven would be in this order:
Shahriar nafees
Mehrab Jnr
Aftab
Habibul
Ashraful
Sakib
Mashrafee
Rafique
Razzak
Mashud
Shahadat
I think I would make a pretty good selector. What do you think ? :p

It looks good. But what about Tushar Imran in place of Mehrab Jr. ? Mehrab Jr. is still lacking big game temperament, it seems, if we look into his last outing against the Zimbos. (Although, it cannot be judged just from one match.) BD think-tank is in favour of Mehrab Jr. Shahadat and Russel have 50-50 chances, I believe. Russel does not have the pce that Rajib has, but he is quite successful in most of the matches.

We still need to find a suitable opening parter. So far, Mehrab has been useless. I will give one more chance to Mehrab to prove his worth, and if he scores anything below 40 runs, I will start looking for a new guy. Choosing Mehrab is a risk, since he hasn't performed, but we have to take this risk, Knowing that if he falter, we might end up loosing !!

Funny how people has already started judging Mehrab jr. He played only one odi so far and also in that odi he didn't get to bat. Still we are talking about how he lacks big match temparament and how he hasn't performed. Let the kid play the whole series and then judge. We need an opener for the world cup and Mehrab can do that job for us. We've already seen what Tushar can do, so no point going there again.
