Default ICC considering further umpiring changes

ICC considering further umpiring changes

A agree what ICC try to do. I think this will be good for the game, and will have less pressure on umpires.

I think this is a stupid idea. It takes the professionalism away from the umpires and the umpires decision should be final. I hope that this decision will not go ahead. It is ridiculous.

But I will welcome this idea. There is no problem of being judged by the third umpire, which will be more fair. In many cases, some players become the victim of "Benefit of doubt", which may be eliminated to some extend. After all, umpires are human being, so there are chances of misjudgement.

According to my understanding, the disadvantage of the current umpiring is this: in case of the 'benefit of doubt' or in case of mistakes, a player's reputation greatly influences an umpire's decision.

For example, I have seen Habibul Bashar getting a 'not out' decision when he was truely out, just because he has a good reputation on the umpires, as well as the whole cricket-population in general. Mind you, I have seen this happen only in one case, where the decision goes in our favor.

And I have witnessed countless number of times when the reputation of our opposing teams' player has contributed in umpiring decision against us.

Bro Fwullah

I have seen that happening many times. Umpiring decisions always goes favour of big team. Game should be fair and square, I hate to see team loose just because of umpiring decision.

We have the technology why not use it, soon or later it’s going to happen. Why not now?

Good point, fwullah.
Quite often it happens that the decision goes against a player of 'minnows' group.

Keep the old system for now please!

At least we will have some scapegoat to blame to after each defeat.

I think stick to the old method. All the bad decisions always even out in the end.

But it's more fairer, when the decision is more accurate and unbiased, even it goes against us.
