First microgoal should be to score 250 then 300, then reduce lead to 0, then get a lead of at least 100. Bangladesh top order played well given they were ambushed by a weird pitch. These two can sleep over it, mull and have plenty of time to assess. This is the benefit of playing on third day. I am confident we shall a strong partnership tomorrow and not the reckless pattern from the late.
We will win!

That's another way of thinking about it. I wasn't even thinking that far. But yes, I guess why not, let Bangladesh bat once.

The word, 'commanding', in the title of this thread prompted me to think very optimistic of a 'plan' that might be 'fool-proof'. And which puts Bangladesh in the cockpit (Did not want to use the overused, 'driver's-seat') of this test match.

What is point of opening thread like this? We are no where near commanding position, even when we are doesn't take much to change the game, so I don't see what this point of this.

192/2 to 200/5. We are practically 6 down already.
"Was" would have been appropriate. Not anymore.

The value of not watching a match is you don't tend to throw a hissy fit like the Shakib's thread based on a single frikkin delivery.
You look at a match in gestalt and learn to appreciate the big picture. The gift of not watching the collapse is this...you don't get all tied up in it. Taken in isolation this is an excellent scorecard.
Of course, some of us have bought CI's debbie downer title "Late wickets hurt Bangladesh" all fixated on one single issue.

Trying to be clever when its not on. Simple fact is that we WERE in commanding position but not anymore. We still trial by 125 odd runs. 125 freaking runs.

Anyways I disagree.
Some sanity:
Quote:
5.25pm The two ends of the day were delicate and disastrous. Dinesh Chandimal took Sri Lanka out of a slippery slope of an overnight score of 238 for 7, and placed them on the comfortable footing of 338. Then Bangladesh did what they have done so regularly in 2016 - given away a good start and looked like a team hell-bent on self-destruction.Bizarre last half hour, really. They were on cruise control until poor shot selection and Sandakan's magic has given Sri Lanka more than just a shout at taking at lead and with it the advantage. The decision to send in a nightwatchman spectacularly backfired. That means Mushfiqur and Shakib will have a lot of batting to do as Bangladesh try to whittle down the led. The surface has eased out, but we've often see how the ball behaves strangely early in the day, and so they'll have to bat with a degree of caution if they are to keep Bangladesh in the hunt for a lead. Join us at 9.30am for what should be a decisive day in this Test.

I stand by my statement, "Bangladesh should bat until lunch on day 4"

My message possessed the duality of Bangladesh's batting woes.
They may or may not be on second innings by lunch on day 4.

Not exactly in a "commanding" position, perhaps in a better position. Trailing by 124, having 5 wickets in hand including 2 real tail-enders, 1 debutant and 2 non-set batsmen (1 of them doesn't seem bothered about getting out) in the crease isn't really commanding.

If we got a wicket then maybe. The way we leaked runs in the last hour mostly nullified the gain. It will be tough tomorrow. If we can't get ei cket in the first 30 mins, then I am afraid we will be back into all too familiar losing position from a winning one.
We can still be in strong position, only if we can take quick wickets tomorrow morning. Anything above 230+ as a target will be tough ask in 4th innings.

If they can't chase 180 down its pathetic
We should be able to chase down anything under 200, but we won't be able to because we are not a big team

Unfamiliarity on how to deal with a such a situation could be a bigger challenge for Tigers than the trio of Sandakan, Herath and Dilruwan.
Given the lead, we should have put SL under pressure. But we just gave in, and convinced Lankans they can put in a big second innings score.

Sandakan will be lethal on day 4.
But I want to see Mustafiz getting the ball to turn and bounce on Day 4 as well.

Here lies the problem. Jhorey bok morey, ar forik'er keramoti barey. You are wrong and we are right. Doesn't matter if you are looking at the scorecard only at the end of the day and not watching the proceedings at real time.
Central time: 11:20AM You created this thread saying BD is in commanding position with 5 down and 120+ odds behind. That is in present tense. Not knowing the future.
Then to justify the fallacy you quote:

I don't see any commanding position assertion comment here and check out the larger font. It is in future tense.
Lucky that Shakib learned something from Chandimal's innings for that day only or else we would be in dire trouble.
