Indians will now forget the thrashing by England. Pujara will be compared to Tendulkar and Ashwin to Murali. The dream will eventually end during their next overseas tour. I don't think they have a tour anytime soon so the party will continue for quite some time.

Matthew Hayden's view on Aussie batting in this Test: http://www.espncricinfo.com/india-v-...ry/623609.html
Good analysis, good to have a man like him in the commentary box. Compare this to our Ata and Shaimma. Actually, no comparison there.
Maybe he'll make a good batting consultant one day, if he wants.

Congrats to India. They've bounced back very strongly for this series. One change they should really make is drop Sehwag. Look at what happened when they dropped Gambhir. Murali Vijay hit a big century. Time to give Dhawan or Rahane a chance in place of him.
As for the Aussies, when will they realize they need 2 specialist spinners? Get both Doherty and Lyon in. Have Clarke bat at #4. #5 is too low for the best batsman in the side. They should also drop Hughes who looks out of sorts and try Khawaja.

dhawan for sehwag maybe, i'm a big supporter of rahane but not sure he can make it as opener. i reckon he's better off taking tendulkar's place in the middle order.

Ya true Rahane looks more suited for the middle order. Dhawan should definitely be tried.
By the way, how disappointed are u with your Aussies? I know it was always a tough ask to beat India in India but didn't expect them to get thrashed like this

yes very disappointed but not surprised, we've gotten use to underwhelming performances over the last couple of years. batting wise i didn't expect much from anyone other than clarke who i though would do great and he's done that so far, and i thought warner and wade would be the next best. bowling wise they should stick with lyon imo, go with 2 spinners is probably what they should do.
anyway my memories of australia playing india on home soil aren't particularly good so i was expecting it.

As i said before Michael Hussey would have been a huge difference in India. Hussey and Clarke were the ones bailing Australia out repeatedly... now Clarke simply doesn't have a wing-man to take the fight to the Indian spinners

Well as an Indian cricket fan, my expectations from this test team are very limited. With current set of talent that we have in this transition phase, I won't be surprised if they get beaten soundly in England, South Africa and Australia.
We need to maintain home record in this period. It's not as if we were used to win every test match in India in last few years as most of them used to be draw, So I won't be complaining if we unearth talent like Pujara and Ashwin who at least capable of winning matches in India and this should be our top priority at the moment, if we start to get beaten in India then our test team will going to be rated below West Indies and New Zealand.

Naeem Islam jnr (spinner) would stroll into the Aussie team in this day and age. Aussie dont have spinners.

Watson has been a very disappointing Test match batsman. Perhaps he should take a break from Tests and figure out why he has only 2 Test centuries. By now he should've been 1 of the best batsman in the team but it doesn't feel that way. It's understandable to see the likes of Warner, Hughes, and Maxwell struggling. They're big time talents but they're still young and learning. They still need a few more years before they start being more consistent.

yeah watson should be one of the best test batsmen in the world right now but he hasn't developed the consistency at the highest level. it took awhile for him to adjust to ODIs. but there was a time where he was averaging about 48/49 in FC cricket, i know test matches have obviously affected that statistic but it's dropped down into the 43s, and that time when he was averaging so high was during a tougher more competitive domestic system (hadn't played much test cricket at that point though).

Bangladesh have a dozen spinners who can make it into the Aussie team. To be honest Doherty is an average spinner in Bangladeshi standards. Lyon has potential, but Australia is not making the best use of him

Watson should be one of the best batsmen in world cricket. It appalls me to see how poor his conversion rate is.

Came across this live blog where Cricket Australia representative responses to fans questions during the match period. Few interviews from the players are there as well. http://www.cricket.com.au/news-list/...ird-test-day-1 Wish we had something like that.

Good opening partnership by Cowan/Warner. Clarke got stumped on 0. Hughes is 1 off 26 deliveries.

This a four dayer, still Aussie batters are bogged down here too much against spin attack; all these unlikely diffensive play making it boring.

If Aus are getting destroyed by Ashwin then wait till they encounter Gazi and Shakib at the same time.
