Default **Fire Akram Khan**

No A team tours for nearly two years, last October, 2015.
No tours for U-19 team.

Example of his inability to break deals.

Quote:
We were in talks with New Zealand and Zimbabwe for A team tours but they aren't coming. Ireland A are supposed to come later this year."

So they discussed with NZ and Zimbabwe and they are not coming? why? FFS! Zimbabwe not coming? seriously??? I say this is one of the worst fool to be the head of our cricket operation in BCB. Also the fool is unsure if Ireland will tour us.

I have seen enough of this talentless person. He needs to GO!
We as fans need to wake up and realise how clueless Akram is!

Not sure if its Akram Khan who is solely responsible for lack of A Team development/tours.

But BCB have truly been woeful in this area. Fast tracking Under 19 players too fast to the NT. Not providing a platform for these young guys, plus fringe players to improve skill, play more cricket.

Yes, Could you post without calling him "idiot" and articulate your thoughts properly? You have already said he was clueless, talentless. I am trying to help you. It is hard to be on your side.

Thanks I have edited the OP. Removed Idiot.

His been making me angry with his petty reasons to the media.
Sometimes he wants the HP to be known as the A team!

I just think his intelligence is too low for his job.
This won't benefit us in the long term. We need better professionals.

From my FB Post:

The skill levels of the directors need to improve a lot. In this current time, you have to have necessary diplomatic skills to arrange tours, not only for the national team but U-19/A teams. The failure to arrange A team tour for nearly two years have substantial influence on players development, especially of the likes of Anamul Haque, Abul Hasan, Nazmul Hossain Shanto, Rony and many others. With all due respect to what Akram has done for Bangladesh, I genuinely think he doesn't have those skills, backed up with his consistent failure to even arrange A level tours

Welcome to the "why no A tours" group SportingBD. Unfortunately, this group only consists of you and me. No one really cares. Not BCB or players or fans.

Regarding Akram, this is what happens when you take a cricket player and give him a key management position in an organization. Nothing new.

Cant single out Akram. Its the entire management. When you cant convince Zimbabwe A team to tour, you know its more then diplomatic skills thats at fault. Zimbabwe was probably asked to share some expenses because BCB probably thinks its a waste of money that could easily go in their pockets. Again its NOT diplomatic skills... Its corruption and possibly lack of interest by the board.

Just look at the BPL franchises this year. Look at the players they are signing! With so much bad reputation in the past, it seemed like BPL would forever be stuck with Pakistani and Sri Lankan 2nd grade players. But these franchises went after the big players... Offered them lucrative contracts and managed to sign ahead of another and superior T20 competition thats taking place at the same time.

If you want things to happen, you gotta invest on it and dedicate yourself to it....

Akram Khan is the chairman of cricket operation committee.

The cricket operations committee is in overall charge of the Bangladesh team as well as the Bangladesh A side.

Akram Khan said in 2013:

"If we can arrange more A team, Academy and Under-19 matches with them regularly, we can hold more international matches in that way. They cooperated with us before we became a Test nation. So why not now? I will try hard to develop relations with them. We have to play regularly with them, and at the same time, reduce our differences."

Lots of fake promises, isn't it?

You wouldn't understand. I have a special relationship with him. He is like a younger brother to me. I am here to guide him. That is all. To me there was something wrong and we fixed it. Next time I'll take the Private Message route. That way you can be happy too.

Do you even believe in the promises of Bangladeshi people?

Papon said we have replacements in line for our Senior cricketers in the next 5-10 years.

There hasn't been a single player half as good as Tamim shakib and mash in their particular role.

I'm judging Akram Khan based on the duties and responsibilities he has as Chairman of the cricket operations committee. That promise is irrelevant.

He has completely failed on the duties/responsibilities he has as Chairman of cricket operations.

Not good news for Bangladesh and the future youngsters.
When they reach national team, they would be 2-3 years underdeveloped.

Why did Akram schedule the match vs. Australia when its going to rain?

I hope the rain stays away.. but surely he would have taken the rainy season into consideration?

Evidently Akram Khan is also a terrible weatherman. Might wanna open a thread about that too, eh?

not to derail the thread, but did you guys know that Akram Khan is a co-owner of Chittagong Vikings?

1) How did he get the money? It definitely wasn't from his playing days.
2) How is that not a conflict of interest given his role with BCB?

You don't have to be smart to know that this is a monsoon season!

You don't need a weatherman to tell you this!

Yes, please stick to the topic. Lets not derail the thread.
Here I'm focusing on his duties/responsibilities as chair of cricket operations committee.

There are many conflict of interest issue with many owners of BPL franchise.
That's not new.
