Default They may just have to Draw Straws!

Look at group B for a sec
Group B

GPWDLGSGAGDP
England 2 2 0 0 3 0 3 6
Sweden 2 1 1 0 1 0 1 4
Trinidad & Tobago 2 0 1 1 0 2 -2 1
Paraguay 2 0 0 2 0 2 -2 0

Now Tommorow If Trinidad & Tobogo defeat Paraguay 2-0 and England beat Sweeden 2-1, or any other combination of scores that make them have the same # of goals scored and points, T&T and Sweeden will have to draw straws to determine who will advance to the KO stage. thats alot of If's but it's not to farfetched.

The two teams tied when they played each other last, yeah? Well I'm as bewildered as the rest of you.

it may not happen in this group but may happen in the group of france. A french 2-1 win, coupled with a goalless tie in Korea - Switzerland match would mean Korea and france are equal in evry aspect

I just read it. But I could not understand difference between point 1 and 4.
Quote:
Teams finishing level on points will be ranked on: 1 Goal difference; 2 Total goals scored; 3 Most points won in matches between teams finishing level; 4 Goal difference from games between teams finishing level; 5 Total goals scored in those three games; 6 Draw of lots.

5 is kinda stupid too, if i understand it properly. so in the end how many goals you concede doesnt matter? it's all about how many you score? so a team with a GF/GA ratio of 5/5 is better off than on with a ratio of 2/2?

Points 3 & 4 are silly. In this example, if T&T and Sweden both finish equal on points, 3+4 would have same result (1 point, 0 GD). Even if one side had beaten the other, one of those two points are simply unnecessary.

And what on earth is "Draw of lots"?
