Here is the game guide if you're playing for the first time.

Quote:
Game Guide - How to Play

Now you've got even more reason to keep track of events in the ICC World Twenty20 - it can help you on your way to some of the fantastic prizes on offer in ESPNcricinfo Fantasy World T20.

So if you want to add that extra bit of spice to the ICC World Twenty20, and at the same time as giving yourself a chance to take home some fantastic prizes, then read on...

Prizes

The total prize pool is worth over USD10,000! Click here for a full breakdown.

The overall standings are split into two leaderboards, called sub-leagues*. There will be one sub-league for India, and one sub-league for USA, Canada, UK, Australia and New Zealand. All other users (i.e. those who do not reside in any of those countries) will not qualify for prizes and will need to select 'Other' when prompted to choose a sub-league.

Prizes are awarded to the top teams in each sub-league for the full duration of the ICC World Twenty20, as well as for the two individual game phases - the group stages and the Super Eights/knockouts.

* The sub-league you choose must be strictly based on where you reside, which will need to be validated before delivery of prizes. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions for full details.

Selecting Your Team

To start picking your team, you'll need to log in. You first need to register your personal details by entering your email address and password (even if you have entered previous Cricinfo fantasy games), and on subsequent visits, simply log in with these details. Click here to register.

You must select your 11 man team (with one player designated as your captain) using a budget of one million dollars, with no more than six players from any one country, ensuring that it complies with one of the three specified player combinations.

To find out more about how to select your World XI, click here.

Making Team Changes

Team changes are unlimited until the start of the ICC World Twenty20 at 14:00 GMT* on Tuesday, 18 September. Changes are also unlimited between the end of the Group Stages and the start of the Super Eights at 10:00 GMT* on Thursday, 27 September and between the end of the Super Eights and the first semi-final at 13:30 GMT* on Thursday, 4 October.

* Please note that Indian Time = GMT+5.5 hours, UK (Summer) Time = GMT+1 and US Eastern Time = GMT-4.

You can also make up to 24 team changes during the Group Stages, up to 12 team changes during the Super Eights and up to up to four team changes between the first semi-final and the final. Team changes carried out after the scheduled start time of a match will only come into effect for the following game.

Captain changes are unlimited throughout the competition and can therefore be changed prior to every single match.

For further details on team changes, please click here.

Scoring Points

The scoring system for Cricinfo Fantasy League is easy to follow, with points updates within an hour of the completion of each match.

Your 11 man team will score points based on your players' bowling, batting and fielding performances, as well as for the official Man of the Match - with double points (both positive and negative) for your captain.

I guess the key to success here is making frequent updates before the start of each match, but you have to calculate very carefully how much changes you have left and how many changes you can afford to gamble.

I would personally prefer that you can only make changes before and after group stages. This should make things more interesting.

They didn't really change much. The only good thing so far I see is they added some big prizes, but that's about it.

scoring system is extremely bias toward bowlers. As a batsman, if your SR is between 0-90 you get 15 points deducted. That's too harsh. Given a match situation, sometime a batsman has to bat a little slow. While on the other hand, as a bowler you get your points deducted when your economy rate goes over 9, it should be anything over 7.5.

Yah, the fantasy itself is still the same, sad. But the other stuff is something fun for a change from the math majors over at CI.
